I dont know if this has been posted, but my friedn just got me a chef apron to craft, i got every resource needed except the crafting tool.. whenever i try to put it in, it says too damaged to use or sumtin like that.. i tried like 3 different ones and she made one that did the same thing too.. 1 was 14.16, the others were like 14.76 i bought from the bazaar.. do they need to be higher than that or sumtin? any advice would be great

Stupid question, but it has to be asked. You are trying to put a Food and Chemical Crafting Tool into the chefs apron aren't you? I have made probably 30 of the various aprons with no problems so I don't know what to tell you beyond that.

Items that are decayed can't be used. The tools unfortunately don't show decay. Make sure to get a new one crafted for you.

I keep my crafting tools on me at all time, like to spent my shuttle wait times crafting away 
, so if i'm running missions and get killed, then my tool decay. Eventually they get to 0 and when you try to use them, it says No, uh-uh, can't do it. 
Have to make myself a new crafting tool. That may be your problem, try making something else and see if you can or can't. If you can't it's b/c your tool is decayed, need a new one. If you can, something is wrong w/ the schematic or your ingredients, IMO. I wish tools had a way to read your decay, as it is now you can only see the decay after you've re-cloned .
