I have a Bio-Engineered shirt that needs to be repaired. It is at 10/1000 condition right now and I do NOT want to lose it.

Should I get a master tailor to repair it, or can I do it on my own??

You should geta master tailor to do it since we have more of a chance of success. If it works like I think it will, there is still a good chance of it failing if it is such low condition, though (I need to get around to testing this). Also, at least for right now your shirt will be just as good as new when it is decayed. Hopefully this is something that will be fixed soon, so don't count on it, though.

That's the story I've gotten with regard to repairing weapons (and I see no obvious reason it wouldn't be true of other things): supposedly, once a weapon gets to 25% or thereabouts, there's a big dropoff in repair success rates.

always repair between 25-30% as that seems to be the current best target for succes vs degrade. This is true for every item except lightsabers. Always best to get the masters of the field to fix them as well, because this will ensure the best repair skill, and best chance at only "slight blemishes" which will reduce an x/1000 item to 950/950 condition. If you try it yourself, then you will likely get it to 800/800 as a failed repair, or even worse, you could critical fail it and find you now have a 1/1 item that is unusable.
