Thread: Wedding Band should be visible on our toons!!!

Hello,

as much as this may seem like a useless feature, it's not.

If a player wears any ring, such as the famous Band (Or renamed Gold Ring, Wedding Band, Wedding Ring, Gold Band, etc) on their fingers, it should be visible by other players on their hand.

Why? Because in real life, only a jerk would dareflirt on a married woman (or a b!tch wouldflirt on a married man) if they see the person is wearing a wedding ring on their left hand. This should be the same for our swg toons. If you're married and wear a Ring, there is no way to prove that you are married.

If this is too hard or difficult for SOE, at least write in our character's biography that we are married and with whom we are married. And to keep this realistic, allow the player to hide their marriage status if they want. For those who want to roleplay a jerk or b!tch and enjoy cheating on their love ones, they can easily pretend they are single. lol

What do you all think?

*Agreed* It would be nice to have some sort of way of knowing that you are married. Whether it is seeing the wedding band on your finger, having your husbands last name, or maybe something in our bios that displays our maritial status. I really wished they would've implemented something like this in the game when it first came out.

I've been married to my oneand only lovesince November and sadly, I won't get to enjoy any of thesethingsif and whenthey do everdecide to work on the "marriage" part of SWG. After months of grinding and getting bored of the "broken this" or the "this isn't good enough that"*sigh*he has completely lost faith in SWG and has decided to quit the game oh, and worst of allsell his account

I wear a band and I am not married. I made myself a silver one. I think marriage status should be listed in your bio. Maybe give us more ring options or make it possible to put the rings on different fingers. I love jewelry would love to be able to wear more of it.

Mmmm, I'd definitely love the idea of seeing my character having the ring on. I bet it would look so cute, hehe. Plus, I bet some people would want others to know you were married. Having the choice to show our marital status in our /examine would be a great idea. Speaking of /examine / bios, I wish there were the ability to hide tags sometimes.

I name all the Bands I make 'Unity Ring' as I feel it adds a nice touch. I also make them in Gold, Rose Gold, White Gold, Silver and Platinum just to offer something a bit more special

I'm disappointed that there is no way of knowing if a player is married, unless they have bothered putting it in their profile. Mine currently lets people know I'm married to Foxx and I'm the sister to Itsaka Rymi (we have a growing family in-game!).

Whenever someone asks me to make them bands, I ask them what they want to name it and offer the available colors to them (mainly white, gold, blue, red). Some people can get very creative with those band names, hehe.

Mine simply says my husbands name. That way everytime I open up my invetory and see that band - I'm always tickled to see his name is directly underneath it as a remembrance that it is he who I am forever binded to.

I think some sort of bio notation is the only real likely implementation here.

Why? Because we don't have fingers! This has always been a minor annoyance to me - bare hands and feet look *really* bad to me, because there's a real lack of graphical definition do them. So I tend to always wear gloves, even if I'd prefer bare hands for the particular look, simply because the bare-hands look seems kinda creepy and unnatural to me.

I always do weddings bands for a couple with their names as the title and as a factory run of two. That way they have identical serial numbers which is a nice touch.

Hmm, that is a nice touch Smi. I haven't done that. I like each to have an inscription from the other person, so that they have some rememberance to look on and sentimental quote to read. For instance, I made two recently. One said "Wedding Ring - All my love, til time and times are done" and the other one said "Wedding Band - Eternal love to my better half"

I never ended up doing this (getting married) but my ring was going to be named "the one ring to rule them all"
