I've always liked n'Jessi's Guide to Maintain Sanity myself. It helped me out when I was a newbie Tailor.

From my personal experience, I started out stocking two of every item plus BE clothing, outfits, looted schematics, and furniture. Looking back, I have no idea how I did all that. I eventually burned out on it, and briefly partnered with another Tailor/Architect. I decided to move, so the partnership ended, and I decided to sell outfits only. Then I left the game for a month, and I haven't gotten a shop set up yet since I got back.

My plan, though, is to stock outfits (and dancer props). Plus a special vendor for purple clothing.

For non-BE clothing I stock every available item in a range of colours (black, white, red, blue, green, purple, gold .... and then a random collection of Ice Blues, Mints, Sage Greens etc). With BE I stock every possible defensive item in black and white (for the common garments I do multiples in these colours). I also have a number of other colours as "one-offs". For other BE I do a range of clothing in a variety of colours.

I no longer bother with the lower level BE mods; and for mods on synth I pretty much only deal with garments that allow me to make +25s, except for a few mixed items eg +18 Augmentation/Cure with +15 Defensive on paramilitary camos etc.

I don't do outfits but I do custom orders and I have sidelines in props, powerups and lighting.

Basically I didn't set up my vendor tent until I had a really large stock and then I took things slowly, filling out the range when I had time.

I've been tailoring since August 2004 and in my main Corellia location since October 2004. I recently opened a new branch on Tat.

I don't do all of this on my own I have a partner and we have 5 toons between us to manage various aspects of the business.

I stock one of every item in black, white, blue, red and hot pink, and others in colours I think look good. My BE clothing vendor has every item in black, white, blue and red (I stock around 10 of every item in black because it's so popular). The vendors I have are:

Female Clothing

Male Clothing

Accessories

Bio-Engineered Clothing

D2bD (Alternative clothing - nothing on this vendor is black)

Yay! And you can see the "Purple Temple." I'm known in my guild as the Purple Goddess lol. I've had the Temple around in some form since last August or so. My purple clothing vendor is called the "High Priestess."

why oh why did i ever start the purple terror! one of my many mistakes! just kidding . Mira does well in decorating her "temple" usually.
