They threw us a bone. 55 more colors! Yay! Congrats Masters. Then, they literally 'red-shirted' us, including the Masters.

(Star Trek reference: Red-shirt, to be red-shirted - 1. Marked for Death. The anonymous guy in the red shirt who will definitely die this episode. 2. To be killed in character or kicked out of the game by your Commanding Officer. 3. To quit. e.g. "Red shirt me.")

We get Red and Dead in the same patch? Nice. Clothing didn't decay before, we knew that, we were being patient and hanging our hopes on promises. Now clothing isn't going to decay unless if/when they put in this damage accrual due to incap thing, except for clothes that were insured? I remember the insurance fiasco in beta. Everyone did combat in their undies. Insurance cost too much for something as unecessary to battle as clothes.

No experimentation? What are my experimentation points for then? Just more colors? I get to use Red someday?

Why did I just spend 10k on a high % functionality Armor and Crafting Station then? Why did I spend so much time just last night making high % crafting tools for myself and some friends? What does any of that matter now we have no experimentation on clothing or components of clothing? Why should I care if my crafting stations and tools are better Q-%? Won't that hurt the people that craft these tools for us too? What will they sell to us now?

What does this do to Armorsmith's abilities to make higher quality armor if they can't obtain higher quality Tailor components?

Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths have the ability to craft items that are better or worse than the next guy's at the same level of skill. Why don't Tailors have this ability? Your Red will be the same as my Red. Unless they fix skill tapes and BE enhancements to work as described, right?

If there is no durabilty and no decay and no experimentation on clothing or clothing components, then why why would I seek out and harvest or buy high Q resources to make any of that? No Miner will be selling me anything for more than 1 credit per unit. What for? Quality of the ore no longer matters to me, right?

Red and Dead? Guy A will buy his Red outfit and then never need another one because it will never decay if he just never wears it in battle? Guy B will keep buying everything in Black - Artisan-Domestics 1 level items that are cheap and basically ugly because "Cool and Colorful" will be too costly to ever insure? He can wear nice, experimented on armor over his underwear. Clothes are a luxury he can do without. "Cool and in Black" will be replaced with "Cool and in Red" and it will last forever. Sales will plummet.

Okay. I have a migraine and I'm tired and old and my short term memory is kaput, so maybe I am missing something obvious that invalidates everything I think about this issue... but all I wanted to be in this game is a Tailor... and right now, I don't see any reason to keep being one.

All the Tailors have been Red-shirted. She's dead Jim.

It may be my imagination - but I find I crit a lot less at quality stations than none.

I think you missed the whole point of his post.

Nope - just replied to the only part of it that might actually have some practical bearing.

Experimentation never did anything for us - and when it did - it was a royal PITA.

We need decay - but removing experimentation was a gift, believe me - it's NOT something the average customer is going to make a buying decision on.

Clothing customers make decisions on style and color - sockets and bonuses (which hopefully will someday work), stock available and in some aspects - displays to give them ideas of their own.

Ah, so how long that 5-10kcredit piece of clothing is going to last has no bearing on their decision to purchase, riiiight.

Not nearly as much as the color and bonuses and sockets will - no.

Just wondering, Wire do you happen to be a Tailor or some other profession? Every other profession gets something for experimentation, I guess it's ok that the only thing that tree gets us now is a bigger pallett?

Master Tailor - also Master Bioengineer.

Believe me - you don't want to compare notes with a bioengineer on 'broken and/or worthless'.

I think the idea is:

Experimentation (based on materials) would allow one tailor to separate themselves as superior when making the exact same black duster as another tailor. If everyone makes different items, then, no, experimentation would not be useful. But with identical products, it would make all the difference between two otherwise identical products.
