Thread: Clothing Set Items
I think it would be a great idea to be able to craft an item you can put different items in to make a complete set of clothing. For example, lets say the item looks like some sort of gift box, and you plug in various items. When you view these in the Bazaar or in a vendor, it shows you what it looks like, just as if you dropped all the clothes in your house.
Say you can put in 1-3 jackets, 1-3 shirts, 1-3 pants, 1 or 2 gloves, 1 or 2 boots, 1 piece of headgear, 1 bandolier or backpack...
I just always make complete sets of clothing, and it sucks that I have to put it in a backpack and "explain" what it looks like.
I'll photoshop an idea and post it later.
A box is a good idea... maybe with a maximum of 8 pieces. clothing and jewelry items only. And when you examine it it brings up a mannequin of someone of your species and shows how it looks on as a set.. Make the boxes craftable by master artisans and maybe require wood, fiberplast and metal to make? heck, throw it to newbie engineers they need something to do too..
I figure I'll use the forums to rustle up a little more business with the web page pointer in my signature. That's got screenshots of some of the possibilities for each named line.
I started just yesterday, but it's selling pretty well already. Selling well for me, anyway-- I've sold about 20 items. I'm not one of your big-name tailors.
That would be wonderful if we could group on the bzr and vendor.
CeejS, I am doing the same thing. I currently do 4 variations of clothing:
Royal - Dark Blue / Gold, Consists of 8 pieces
Trademark - Maroon / Gold, Consists of 5 pieces
Smoke - Dark Gray / Black - Consists of 7 pieces
Ranger - Dark Green / Gold (or Brown), Variation of the Smoke set
I sometimes, rarely, do an Arctic set, but people only seem to buy it when its grouped in a backpack, and with the hide nerf, I can't afford to blow 20-40 hides just on a stupid backpack...
Maybe the kits should take 30 metal, 10 petrochems and 20 fiberplast.
