Thread: Hey tailors, what are the chances of the devs giving you your tailoring wishes?

Personally I cant wait till the devs give you guys some more stuff to make us. I think it would make your bussiness boom and make us look real snazzy as well. I mean its about time the devs did something to expand your inventories, and i think some of these wishes sound great.

GL to you guys, I hope the devs listen

I just want them to fix necklaces so I can actually SEE them when I am crafting them, and SEE them when they are on my vender!!! But, even that is to much to ask for I'm afraid....

Most likely outcomes:
1. Anything on our wishlist that happens to be desired by armorsmiths as well will be quickly implemented. Anything on our wishlist that armorsmiths are *against*, no matter how mildly, will never be implemented.

2. A completely random smattering of the items on our wishlist (about 5%) will be implemented in the next BigPatch. They will be implemented without notice, and will never appear in a patch note or on TestCenter before going live.

3. Also in the next BigPatch will be one significant change, also never mentioned by a dev or cited in a patch note, that has never actually been requested by a single tailor, and appears nowhere on our wishlist. It'll probably be a relatively minor but not unwelcome change, yet one that has us all scratching our heads as to why it was implemented.

Sue,

I wouldn't worry about the droid engineers. They will probably the THE crafting class very soon with the battle droids coming up. They have been neglected for a very long time but even I am considering picking up DE before long, lol, as that is "where the action is".

No matter how they prioritize it though, we're getting the short end of the stick. If they prioritize based onbugs/imbalances (which they are certainly not, look at chef),then we're last in line. If they prioritize it based on how many people are directly affected (which seems to be more or lessthe case) then we're also hosed.

To me the fair thing to do would be to do like you say and give some level of prioritization to every profession just to keep up interest in the game and keep the professions kind of balanced, but alas they are certainly not doing that. No new schematics for tailor since launch (and the same for chefs) speaks volumes.

Of course, by some metrics, we should be one of the *top* priority classes. Excepting the tiny fraction of players who wear nothing but armor pieces 24/7, everybody wears clothes!

BTW, has *any* profession gotten *new* schematics at all? Seems to me there have been fixed and debugged schematics, but anything genuinely brand-spankin'-new other than that recent addition of a quest-based Armorsmith schematic or whatever it is?

Sure, don't you remember? Artisans got the ability to stick bugs in a big can, so that when someone opened it, the air would fill with bugs for 5 seconds. Value = less than nothing, Purpose = absolutely none.

Sure, master artisans got vehicles, bio engineers got all those new creatures plus the pet pharma stuff early in the summer, architects have gotten tons and tons of new stuff. Droid engineers are about to get lots of new toys. Lots of stuff happening elsewhere, just not here.

That is one of my main issues as well.

Wow I'm glad I'm not the only person who's noticed this. I was happy at the new metal palette but can't help noticing how great it looks on armor and how poor it looks on most of the clothes that use it, especially when mixed with many of our regular color choices on the clothing items that use it. It seems obvious that it was mostly implemented as armor colors and then added to us as a kind of afterthought. Many of the newer metal colors look awful over the textures of the parts of clothing that they cover, on some items they just barely give a tint of color, nothing like the vibrant way they look on the armor they're used for. It's a little frustrating that we have gotten no new schems since release to our profession that's all about style, but at least now armor is beautiful and stylish.

I seriously don't think there is another profession in the game that has less developer attention then tailor. I suppose this is somewhat justified since we are relatively bug-free, and unpopular when you crunch the numbers, but it is disturbing nonetheless.

I think our best chance of getting something new would be if it supports something else that they're doing. For example, if they are working on space expansion and realize "doh!there isn't anything that people can wear that looks right in the new space ships" then suddenly we'll probably see some new schematics suddenly appear. But I see no activity at all going on just in the name of offering tailors something.

To be fair, that's not necessarily a bad way of doing things. I.e., if you have a "problem" with a particular profession, and there are two courses of action:

1. Does everything Profession A asks for
2. Does 80% of what Profession A asks for, but also gives Professions B and C something cool,

then option 2 is probably the better choice, at least in theory.

For instance, whenever I think about the whole "tailor mannequin" wish, I think it should be implemented as a droid function of some sort. In part because it seems appropriate and Star-Warsy, and I like droids and the long-suffering droid engineers, but also because I think that solution might get more "heat" behind it. Whatever sort of "mannequin" concept you think of, it's a non-trivial programming task. So the more people it would benefit, the better chance of it happening.

It's all really fairly simple,,,with so much whining by the combat classes and the problems in the GCW , SOE can't get game of the year or any other award,,,and they dont think fixing entertainers, iders and tailors will do anything to help them get better ratings, And ratings are the key to sellilng new subscriptions,

So dont look for much improvement, except a bone now and then, The only non-combat professions that will get any attention is the one that's totally broken,,,de.
