I apologize if this has been asked repeatedly...

But how often do you Master Tailors crit fail when working with a BE cloth? Does it seem to be more often than when working with normal cloths?

I don't seem to crit fail more often on BE items than on regular clothes.

But I understand how it could seem that way. We notice crit fails much more when they're on something major, like a high level item that takes a lot of resources, or something that uses BE cloth. Those seem much worse and so are more noticable than a crit fail on a pair of gloves.

Ah. Very true.

I was wondering because tonight I got a request to make a shirt witha rare BE cloth. The cloth wasn't mine, and I was quite aware of the expense of the rare cloth (It was one that, I believe, requires milk to make), and was willing to reimburse the person if (IF) I crit failed. I crit failed. He didn't believe me, but that's an entirely different story.

I reimbursed him for the cloth.

But I wanted to find out if using BE cloths was more tricky or what.

*le sigh*

Yep, customers rarely believe you. That's why I don't craft with customer tissues. I only sell clothes with the ones I have in my own stock.

It's always better not to use the customer's tissues. Unless it's someone you know who understands crit fails and all that, and who won't blame you or demand money for crit failing. That's the chance the customer takes when he brings you tissues to combine.

I get random tells all the time to combine this and that. After crit failing a few times, I always say no now. The person may think you're a jerk now, but he or she will hate you forever for crit failing on that tissue.

I buy all my cloths from one bioengineer. Basically I factor in crits to the final price of the bioengineered items. That way all the customers pay equally for crit fails, and not just the guy who brought two tissues and was unlucky enough to have one of his lost to crit. Cost spreading, simple economics.
