Myself and a friend created this tonight...I am quite pleased. I was getting a bit depressed trying to find exactly what colors people meant by "pale lime", "faded rose", "muddy teal" etc.

You have way too much time on your hands! It'd be nice to have a color palette with numbered colors, that customers can pick and choose from. Youcreated exactly that... but I'd hate to devote an entire house just to store it!

For me, it usually doesn't take many questions to get the approximate color that my customers want. Then I'll pick the exact color which I think best matches their outfit, hair, skin tone etc. Works out quite well...

I've done this myself, on a somewhat less grand scale.

In the "entrance hall" of my shop, I have a rack of 15 or so Ribbed Shirts in the colors I tend to use most (generally in the darkest of the 7 variants, but lightest for yellows), with the standard abbreviations I use for them.

I find it helpful for both myself and customers, as they can look at the shirt rack if they're confused about what they want.

*laugh*
I have a necklace display, but I don't think I have enough space for a shirt in every colour! Plus it doesn't account for the way different materials hold colours, unfortunately... Nice going, though!

Well that's what I thought but I used to make head wrap after head wrap to try and home in on people's very specific requests. "Oh is there onea bit darker"..."no go back to that one three shades ago"..."sorry I destroyed it"..."hmm, let's try green now"...etc...etc...

That was a primary driver...plus I am mad.

You are my inspiration!

I been thinking of doing the same thing. I'm 0401 tailor now and plan on making a shop once I hit master which I'm real excited about. All I been doing is thinking of how I'm going to set up my shop and make it stick out from the rest. Having a show room of each color was an idea I had but due to the item caps on homes I wasn't sure if I could pull it off or if it would even be a wise thing to do. But after seeing this... I'm starting to feel that maybe its not such a foolish thing to do after all.
