First off let me say a big thank you to anabelle for her great post on tailoring faq and other useful stuff. After reading that post I have come to the following calculations. to get field IV by making ribbed shirts I will need 41,804 fiberplast and 41,804 metals. then to get master tailor by making cartridge belts I will need 103,050 inert petrochemical, 51,525 metals and 72,135 steel. I am grinding domestic arts 4 now so I'm now looking for these resources. My question is since nothing I see on vendors list something as a metal could someone let me know what I need to be looking for. I assume copper and aluminum and things like that but can someone list all metals so I don't waste my hard earned credits on something I can't use. I of course want to buy the cheapest resource I can make these things with since I am only practicing anyway. And maybe this info should be added to anabelles post. thanks for your replies.

Well, as far as metals go, there's copper, aluminium, steel, and iron. Am I missing any?

You got them all.

I would add that since one of the two grinding items (cartridge belts or ribbed shirts, cannot recall which) takes ANY metal AND steel, it makes sense to just horde steel for that item since it can be used in both slots.

This might help if you're a Holo tailor, took me 11 hours to master it and thats with a few breaks. Just make sure you have 8 Clothing Crafting tools on the bottom. This one if for Cartridge belts, if you're doing ribbed shirts you could take the time down a little becuase they require one less resouce.

Correct-o-mundo! Cartridge belts need metal and steel, and wowee, steel is a metal!
I'd switch from shirts to link steel reinforced gloves when you get them (Field 2) IIRC, they take a total of 50 InPet and 20 Metal.
