Thread: Male Twil'lek's Headwear

I have been playing regularly since launch...
I have been patiently waiting for this seemingly simple glitch to be resolved.

When a male Twil'lek equips certain Twil'lek Headwear Items, a white patch (clearly lacking proper texture) appears upon the crown of the head.

Now, I assumed this to be a texture glitch associated with the specific items, but I am wondering if it is actually a mapping issue regarding the 3D structure of the male twil'lek. Perhaps it is a combination of these two things... hey, clearly I am not paid to figure this out.

Regardless... I am so sick of running around with a bare head.
I do not want to wear a helmet, and I certainly do not want to wear the foppish Grand Twil'lek headpiece... no offense to those that wear it well, it's just not this character's style.
I really would just like to be able to wear the Noble Crest without having a horrible texture glitch across my forehead and crown.

The last time I checked, which was before the most recent patch, this was the status of Twil'lek specific headwear and male twi'leks...

Twi'Lek Noble's Crest - Can be equipped by males but creates a white patch upon the crown and forehead of the male twil'lek.

Grand Twi'Lek Headpiece - The only Twil'lek specific headwear that has no graphical errors that can be equipped by males. (At least as far as I know... I had no interest in wearing it, so I didn't examine it very long... trying it on was just a tailor-customer miscommunication/mistake)

Lekku Ys'rak - Can be equipped by males but actually has the same white patch glitch for their head... it's just somewhat hidden by the item, thus can go unnoticed to the casual observer.

Twi'Lek Bone Crest - For Female Twil'leks only.

Twi'Lek Lekku Wrap - For Female Twil'leks only.

(While this issue does not compare to some game-breaking/profession busting problems... neither are these issues related to each other. The hired professional(s) that would be focusing on your problem with BH, DE, etc. has nothing to do with the people that would fix this issue)

I've decided to post this in the Tailor's Forum, the General SWG Forum, the Tech Support Forum, and my Galaxy Forum (Kauri). An email will also be sent.

If there is a more appropriate place to post this that you know of, please let me know.

It really does suck that there isn't much in the way of male-specific clothing for any species....It's not fair to our male customers...although it does leave you more money to buy us women things to wear....=)

Hear hear... Bought a Noble's Crest although being forwarned about getting one because of the glitch, but I figured it was a simple thing to fix so am patiently waiting for this to be fixed. I can only hope that once the freaks... err Devs are finished holidaying and the new year begins that they get off their @$$'s and stop frikken well nerfing everything and actually fix some of the things that should have been fixed long ago.

I do 3d modelling with Maya, Lightwave, and other programs. The problem seems to be with the main Twi'lek Male model, and would require a redo of the entire male twi'lek. As such, this is probably backburner for now, as it doesn't affect play, but just asthetics.

I hate it, and usually try and desuade any males for hats, as they look like they are wearing their underpants on their heads, underneath the hat. I can't wait for them to fix this, but you should realize that it would take a massive amount of reworking to get it fixed, so it will likely be a long time before we see it implemented.

Yeah, that is what I have feared.

I'm not sure how difficult it would REALLY be for them to fix it.
I do think it's a pretty large issue, as they are objects created specifically for twi'leks... you'd really think they wouldn't have left it this way.
Honestly though, I undestand what you're saying about it being a backburner issue... I guess, in my opinion, it's time to address these "backburner" issues.
And yes, it looks like underwear!
Doh, that's not funny
