Thread: Pricing of intermediate bioengineered tissues
I posted this on the bioengineer boards - but was wondering if any of you fellow tailors had an answer to my pricing dilemma.
One of my friends is leveling up bioengineering, and I was helping him out by sticking his grind-tissues in clothes and not pricing them very high so they would sell. Figure - better sell them cheaply than destroy them in practice mode.
Now he's hit tissues 3 and I'm not comfortable with just a rough-justice pricing, as I was with a +2 tissue. I realize that the higher level tissues take more and better components - and are more valuable - therefore a +4 would not be double the price of a +2 tissue. I don't want to just do a rough Xcpu calculation since I have little knowledge of bioengineering, and my friend seems not to care about receiving money at all (but he will anyway!) I was wondering if there was a website out there that could help with this pricing dilemma - at least an example of how a "ramped up" pricing scheme would work, so I could see the ratios. The high-end tissue prices are set by the server, but the mid-range ones are never discussed.
I apologize if this thread has been asked and answered before - I have tried searching the boards for the answer.
As a tailor I wouldn't even bother with tissues under +12 or 13. From what I've seen enhanced clothing suffers from the same thing that weaponsmiths and armorsmiths complain about, nothing they make until master is worth anything, which makes non master tissues pretty much worthless as well from what I can see
.
It's a basic flaw in the crafting system, but it's what we have to work with.
It's not really true that masters have a huge advantage tissues-wise in BE. I just hit master BE this week (wohoo! finally!) but had no trouble offering high quality tissues long before that. A master can make the advanced (i.e. > +10) versions of warcry/intimidate and stun/melee which is nice, but for all other tissues, once you reach engineering 4 you can hit up to +15 on any tissue you have the advanced schematic for, and believe me, +15 is more than enough.
