Please, wait! Don't send me to the faq thread on fabrics and sockets! I just read it.

I am new. I have purchased several bits of clothing that have sockets.

And, I understand the way to use the sockets is to buy 'skill tapes' whatever that is.

What kinds of skill tapes are there, and where do I get them?

I'd mostly be interested in anything that helps me craft better (like an xp bonus), or in pistol skills.

You could always try and compete with the macro-looters... Although I wish you the best of luck doing so

Head to the Borgle Bat Cave on Rori, the waypoint will be in your datapad under the PoI's. Head all the way down to the bottom, the higher skill tapes seem to spawn off the very last pile... easily distinguishable (on Eclipse anyhow) by the same people camped there afk all day, everyday

Beware though, you need lightening fast reactions to stand half a chance at beating some of those people On a good note, of the more "genuine" looters who simply can't afford to pay the ever increasing prices for the tapes, you may find they're willing to trade tapes of interest with you. My boyfriend has a good deal going with another guy and Ive got quite a few food experimentation tapes this way

When people ask me about skilltapes I usually tell them to go talk to some of the elite combat types about them. I know that they go up or auction on my galaxy's trade forum all the time, but it is never us tailors who sell them or seem to buy them. This is because they are mid to high level loot drops and many of us don't have the fighting skills to get them. I can tell you that the few I have seen have been for weapon accuracy and speed, artisan experimentation, artisan assembly and simmilar ones for the elite crafting classes. They have all had very small bonuses that I am not sure make any difference. I have heard of ones with larger bonuses, but I would die merely by being on the same planet as whatever dropped them.
