hi all

im grinding tailor to appese my little blue cube,

i'm artis 0/4/0/0, tailor 3/4/2/2.

i can't seem to put any sockets in the clothes i make (for friends),

is it because my other artis skills are low?

anyone know?

also, i would like to get back some of the money i spent on resources,

what are the best sellers i can sell (i'm not gonna go for a businees, just bazzar and casual sells).

thanks.

Michael

Socketing is based on your tailoring skills (in tailored items) and on your engineering skill (in domestic arts items). Probably your tailoring skill is too low to get more than 1 socket every now and then.

The best sellers which are within bazaar range (depending on your server) are light bustiers, fashionably pleated skirts, long uniform gloves, spec ops duster, cloaks, gunman dusters, paramilitary camos, decorative vests, striped slacks, uniform boots. However, many of these require factory components which you may not want to bother with since you're grinding. That would leave fashionably pleated skirts, uniform boots, long uniform gloves, cloaks, decorative vests, striped slacks. And, of course, any backpacks in the field wear line are a gold mine.

^Agree

I always had luck with Heavy Reincorced Jackets and Desert Command Jackets. But again, those require crated comps.

Another issue is that the Tailoring (i.e. customization) skill tree has a really weird and awkward gradation to it.

You'd think it might work something like:
Tailoring 1: On average, you get 1 socket
Tailoring 2: " " 2 sockets
Tailoring 3: " " 3 sockets
Tailoring 4: " " 2 sockets

But it's not like that at all, it's really more like:
Tailoring 1: Pretty much never get any sockets
Tailoring 2: You'll get 1 socket per item about half the time, zero the other half
Tailoring 3: You'll get 3 sockets on average
Tailoring 4: You'll usually get 4 sockets

It's a really strange allocation, and yet another indication of the perverse incentives that are rife in tailoring advancement and so strongly encourage people to just grind to Master.
