I thought I'd need to be further up the tree to get sockets, but a dabbler in tailor 0 2 0 0 makes socketed soft undershirts virtually everytime...I'm 4 0 0 0 and have never made socketed anything...what's going on? Any advice? Or do I move this over into the techsupport area? ugh.

I am a tailor 3/4/2/1 and can only make socketed clothes from before novice tailor

Any of the field wear - Casual wear or Formal wear will not socket for me.

Only domestic clothing will socket for me.

Do you mean that only the crafted clothes that are from before you received novice tailor? Those are the only ones that you can get sockets out of?

Have you teched this out with anyone? Told the devs? Tech support? And other tailors? Or have you just lived with it...? I don't hold much hope considering you're much further along in tailor than I am, and you obviously haven't solved the issue...

Anyone else? I'm going to go online later and see if I can craft ANYTHING with sockets...including "Artisan" clothes...

You start getting sockets when you go up the 4th tree, the 'Tailoring' tree. This branch gives you more colors and sockets. The other three branches give you more clothing schematics. You won't get sockets regularly until Tailoring II.

This only affects clothes from the Tailor skill tree. Domestic Arts clothing sockets come from the 'Artisan Assembly' skill which you get from the Domestic Arts and Engineering branches of the Artisan skill tree.

Oh THANK YOU...that makes total sense...I have nothing but Domestic Arts in artisan and nothing in the fourth branch of tailor...

What I mean to say is...I guess nothing sockets for me because I don't have anything in engineering and whatever my artisan assembly skill is, its not enough with just having up through domestic arts 4 and nothing in the fourth branch of tailor....right?

Tailoring II gives 1 or 2 sockets, TailoringIII varies from 1-4 if your lucky, Tailoring IV is normally always 3 or 4, Master is 4 all the time (ok u occasianlly get a 2 or a 3 but its all good).
