I put "customer" in quotes because this is most definitely someone that I have no problem at all turning away as a customer. I'll mention no names as they aren't really important.
The (long, I feel like ranting) setup:
I was running through town, stopped into the bank to pick up some supplies out of the safe deposit and help out a newbie (A) in her first week. She wanted a proper cloak *sigh* but she seemed happy with the loose dress in all white as a 'something classy' (much better than the Daisy Dukes and a shortsleeve jacket and no shirt look she was sporting), along with a stately necklace. Worked with her within her budget and even managed to squeeze in a bit of med treat Bio synth in the dress at my normal prices. She was quite happy, and even though I hadn't really made a whole lot of creds off it, it was nice to see someone enthused about a lower item. Longterm customer (B) came running through the bank, Overt Rebel, and said he was giving away 12k. I, jokeingly, said "Well, if you have money to burn, why don't you buy A something fancy" - at which point (B) tipped me 2k and (A) 10k. I sent him a /tell saying "Just kidding... I really don't need the creds... but I can make you something nice, or something for her if you like". Around now, (A) needed to log for a while and did so. (B) said he wanted some boots, as the rocks were hurting his bare feet... whipped off two boots in two different styles for him. Couldn't trade as I'm neutral, so long-time customer (C) who was covert was willing to act as gobetween. I then started to feel a touch guilty about maybe pressuring (B) too publicly to giving his money to a newbie. So, I figured it as a 'charitable donation' - noticed he was wearing a full set of armor and made him a (black of course... oh well) reinforced work shirt with +16Stun/+4Mele, since I knew he could use. Tried to trade to (C), but of course the temp flag was up as he had already traded once with (B). I started to put the item up on the vendor, and told (B) to snag it quick as I was going to list it for just a few creds. (B) asked what the name of it was. Just then, a group of 10-12 Imperials (all one PA) came through the bank and killed both (B) and (C) as I was typing the name of the shirt (which happened to be utterly descriptive). After hitting return, I noticed the carnage and did NOT put the shirt up (thankfully). And then (D), one of the Imps that just shot two customers says to me "How much for that shirt?".
Foolishly or not, I had Master Tailor up. Moments later one of the Wookie members of the same PA that didn't have an overt flag said to me "What can you make for a wookie?"
I said to (D), out loud, "Why should I do business with someone who just came in and shot a customer I was working with?"
(D): "He was fair game, he was overt, that's just the way the game works"
Me: "I understand that, I didn't ask why you shot him. I asked why you think I would do business with you after you shot him."
(D): "What, that's all you have to say? Gg. You need the business"
At this point, why bother to even talk to (D)? I put him on mental /ignore.
I then replied to the wookie (after his second /tell) out loud that "No, I'm afraid I can't make anything for you."
During this time they are using flamethrowers on (B)s pet, as the flames will persist for a while even after the pet is down.
After they got bored (I am so very glad that I don't have to worry about people like this deciding that it's ok to kill a tailor that isn't interested in doing business with them) and left (Restuss is pretty quiet most of the time, not much to do once you've killed a couple of players), I found (B) and made a few of Pet Vit A packs for him and helped him get his pet healed back up.
My only regret is that one of the other members of that PA was wearing one of MY Grand Healer Robes while toasting the pet with a flamethrower. I know it was mine because I sold it to her in the first week after I got Master, in the same colors. I also went through every single flightsuit in her color choice for her before she decided on the GHR instead.

This will happen, and as the person stated, they were flagged and were fair game. I have run into stuff like this before, and just chalked it up as part of the game, usually, I inform the person I was doing business with "I understand whats going on, so if you need to take care of the situation/get them back, go ahead, I'll be around so get ahold of me when you done and we can finish the transaction then."....
However, if this happens inside my store, as almost everyone knows my store is offlimits (even my guildies know that I am strict about this rule)... but if something ever happens inside my store, well, the responisible individuals are banned from the store. Its yet to happen though, thankfully.

Well that didn't happen to me, but i did catch two overts fighting in my shop when i loaded into the game..I told them to stop shooting and they said "fuc* off or we won't by sh*t from you".. Went to the panel and ban them both and outside they went. One of my neightbors who was checking his harvester at the time told me that one of them ran inside my building because it was public. Thats why I keep a small entrance fee now..During the heat of battle there is a small chance that they will have time to agree to the entrance fee before getting there butt whooped. People like that deserve a ban, ignore and a /report . Simple as that. As for the customers getting shot..that really sucks man..but not to be a jerk or anything but the guy should have really been more careful with his overt status. Not a good idea to shop for new clothes during a fight.

Oh, I certainly understand... and it isn't so much (B) that makes me shake my head - it's (D) that baffles me. "Yeah, please, shoot my customers, then I'll deal with you instead." I have no problem with dealing with anyone that is civil and reasonable. (D) was neither in my estimation. I agree, also, that there is a significant difference between what happens in my shop and what happens at the bank - private vs. public spaces.
