I was sitting here avoiding preparing for my Japan trip next week when something occured to me about the current decay scheme. Does it do anything at all to help tailors? I know that we were "blamed" for the idea, but it seems to me that a 3% decay on death may do absolutely nothing for tailors. The condition of a piece of clothing is a whole number, and not a fraction. That means that when an item decays, the number of points taken away usually has to be rounded. The system works if it is always round up, but if it is rounded to the nearest whole number then clothing will never decay away. For example, if the condition of a piece of clothing is 1/1000, then .03*1 = .03, which would normally be rounded down to zero. That would leave the condition at 1, and a condition 1 robe of honor (for example) is just as good as a condition 1000 one. This kind of decay has an effect on things like armor and weapons, but it might not affect clothes at all. Anyway, how is this working on testcenter?
