I have a couple questions for you tailors our there. First off, I am not a tailor and I don't plan to be, but that could change. I am a medic/doctor (intended)/scout and I am wondering what clothes are out there for someone in my profession. For example, is there a cloak or shirt or something that increases a medics medicine use or other medic skills? If so, is it bugged at the moment or what? I have been reading on the forums and I read that some things are bugged at the moment. Wondering if this was one of those thing. Do any of you have recommendations on clothes for a medic? Thank you for your time. I am looking to buy and I would like to know prices. I have money but not a lot, yet. I am on the Ahazi server and looking for clothes with skill bonues if possible. Okay, I am rambling. I am done. Thank you.

Clothes don't have bonuses. Instead they have "sockets" into which items can be placed that add bonuses. I'm afraid I don't know what items are available and for what professions.

Medic clothes: Yes. There is something called a Medic's Robe; I forget the requirements to create one because I'm nowhere near there yet. Someone said in another thread that in beta, doctors also tended to wear the special operations duster in white for a "lab coat" look.

Bonuses from Medic Clothes: There are armor and clothing powerups that drop very rarely from NPCs that give small skill bonuses, more or less at random. If any item of clothing or armor (except backpacks, for user interface reasons) has an open modification slot, you can supposedly drag the powerup over the clothes and add it to them. But don't hold your breath, for all of the following reasons:

  1. They are extremely rare and highly sought-after. So when they do show up on the Bazaar, they sell in minutes.

  2. The bonuses in question are very tiny, on the order of +1 to +2 to the skill in question.

  3. Armor and clothing powerups are not insurable. If you're killed wearing one, it can be looted from you.

  4. There may still be a bug with installing them - I've heard complaints from people who couldn't get it to work. They may have been using the wrong powerups for the clothing they were trying to improve, or there may actually be a bug. Not enough of them have been found that it's common knowledge yet.

I can make a medics smock that adds +7 or so to medicine use, injury treatment and wound treatment. Requires bioengineer components.. but it's possible to make them.. I make a few every day.

Thank you everyone for your replys. Helped a lot.

Velveeta, that is what I am looking for. I will have to find someone on the Ahazi server to make me one since you are corbantis. How much do you charge for the medic smock?

Thanks

I think I sold the universal +7 one for around 6k but it was to a friend.

I sell ones that are something like +6 +4 +6 for around 5k-7k normally depending on how the buffs pan out and what the item buffed is. For instance, I make medic's swoop helms that are normally +1 or +2 to all for around 2.5k.

Nothing, actually. I have a bioengineer business partner - I buy his resources, pay for all his training, pay for his harvesters and give him whatever money he needs, he gives me as much bio components as he can make.

It actually probably ends up costing me more than it would if I just bought them, but I like him and it feels good to help someone out.

I'm a bio engineering Tailor. the bio- components you'll need require some somewhat specific resources for the BE to craft the item. I'd say you can expect to pay around 1,000 credits per bio component.

I don't sell mine since I craft with them. to those interested, you'd only need to work on the Tissue branch of bio engineer to get the components (though I suspect master BE gives you a few more stellar bio components)

How much do you pay for the biological components?
