First of all, we all know that clothing can be made with sockets, but what about the Tailors who get stuck spending hours on trying to get a certain number of sockets in a number of clothes? That's really no fun. Currently, there doesn't seem to be a use for the "Clothing Experimentation", but perhaps Tailoring could be updated to allow for Experimentation that alters how many sockets there are, instead of waiting for a random piece of clothing with the right number of sockets. This would help with cutting down on how many resources are used up trying to fill an order, not to mention that it would make sense that a Master Tailor should be able to tailor (by choice) a certain number of sockets.

No thank you. There have been many past discussions about adding experimentation, and the majority of the tailoring community is opposed to it.

Secondly, the clothing selection and color selection is of a decent size, but it still is lacking. It would make more sense for a Master Tailor to be able to utilize all available colors instead of still being limited on colors based upon what's being crafted. I'm sure people would appreciate it more, and even enjoy the game more if they could have clothes that, say, match their eyes or hair or whatever. Also, the selection of clothing could be expanded, particularly for males in the Entertainer professions. There really doesn't seem to be a good selection of clothing for the males who enjoy the Dancer profession or are working on Dancing for Master Entertainer. I'm sure they would appreciate having clothes which don't look silly to be dancing in. As it is, it is rather tough to pick out combinations of clothes that work well for entertaining. Expanding both color and styles might be a good idea since it could expand the player base to those who like wide customization (such as those who play SecondLife) or just a nice variety of clothing ( women, gay men like myself, and some straight men) to express themselves and feel unique in.

We all, of course, would love to see new clothing and colors.

Experimentation would be nice if it meant not having to have high quality resources. One thing that I did wish is tailor assembly clothing would actually give me more socket 3 and 4 clothing.

Thank you for considering these ideas, and I look forward to some feedback on this.

Ok...First I agree with the experimentation idea, even if that means having to have certain quality resources.

Second, Can we have a few reasons that "most of the tailoring community" is against the experimentation?

I'm sure there are things that would be to a disadvantage, but I can think of more advantages to it, such as the selling of more 4 socket items! This would also help give us a reason to sell clothes for a higher price and help to give a boost to be able to compare to making money like the rest of the professions.

In every other crafting profession, experimentation is directly related to the quality of the materials used. Tailor is in the happy position of being able to use any quality of resource that fits the slot. Being able to find a high concentration of fiberplast and dropping a bunch of harvesters on it is far better than having to search every planet for a high concentration of fiberplast with high OQ, DR, SR, UT etc. that is in a harvestable area. Spending all our time surveying to find the absolute best resources so that we can get 4 sockets in one try instead of 5 or 6 isn't worth the extra effort. Particularly as the likely outcome is that without the very best resources we would never get 4 sockets.

Add to this that combat players who most want sockets more often than notwear mostlyarmour and only a handful of clothing items, they will not pay the higher prices that you would want to charge for items that are merely for show.

I really don't see how adding experimentation has anything to offer us.

You all do make a very convivcing argument.

I guess what we all need to do is come up with exactly what the majority wants and then have the very well organized outcome/thread sent to the proper person.

I have seen many threads with very good ideas and everyone seems to agree, for the most part. Maybe Someone with good organizational skills can put it all together and give it to the right person.

Has this already been done?
