Thread: Tailors + Bio Engineers = What?
I have a friend in my PA working toward Master Tailor and I have been playing with the idea of being a BE. In various posts I have seen it implied that BE can make an item that Tailor's can use in their clothing.
Can one of you tailors explain what it is that a BE can provide to you, please?
Specifically:
- Bleed resist
- Entertainment healing bonuses
- Warcry/Intimidate bonuses
- Medic Healing bonuses
- Maskscent bonuses
- Cover bonuses
- Business Acumen bonuses (BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!)
Downsides
- BE tissues can only be used in synthetic cloth or reinforced fiber panels
- They can't be produced in factories, making them useless for garments requiring factory components
- None are confirmed to actually do anything at the moment besides modify the skill display (and even that's bugged.
- Another bug means that BE fiber panels are incompatible with synthetic cloth in the same garment, meaning only three shirt schematics and a few bandoliers can take these enhancements successfully.
hmm have you tried using a BE component with synth cloth? I tried adding constrictor cloth to a synth cloth and it wouldn't go in the slot. The only thing I could use it in was reinforced fiber panels. It still didn't work once the item is created, no anti-bleeding.

Thanks for the replies.
To bad it isa broken profession like every other non-combat related crafting profession. ![]()
I also think that they will only work on certain clothing items too. I have failed on pants but people have succeeded on shirts (not sure which ones exactly).

Oh. This is a good page for showing what does what (or what should do what rather)

Synthetic cloth takes (let's see if I can remember this) myoflex, chagria, passive biosensors, and I think scent and visual camoflage (not certain). Reinforced fiberplast panels take constrictor cloth and confidence cloth.
If you use an enhanced fiberplast panel in a garment that also takes synthetic cloth, it won't work. The only things that I've found that do work are the reinforced workshirt, lined workshirt, formfitting undershirt and some of the bandoliers. I don't think any of the pants work (although bonuses on the synthetic cloth function normally).
I've also found that individual synthetic cloth samples don't work if the garment also requires identical synthetic cloth pieces. This is the case in quite a few of the tier IV schematics.
Ive made scent and visual camo clothing, they both go in reinforced fibreplast panels.
If you make pants with hand made (not factory made) metal fasteners, the +skills will show up in the skills window when equipping. I've no idea if they work beyond that, havent had the time to read up on it all.
don't forget the awesome broken Tensile
Woohoo BE Master lets you make this non working item ![]()
+4 Melee/+14 Stun Defense! Woohoo!
Pants eat all Mods. Can't mix mods in shirts, the Synth Mod wins.
Entertainer/Medical bonuses are for synth cloth only. All others go into the reinforced fiber panels.
