Thread: What colors go with blue skin?

Ok. I've tried. I really have. My tailor has even worked with me for hours. I just don't know what to do anymore. What colors look good on a Mon Cal with blue skin and red head markings? (Note that blue skin is Navy Blue and Red is a pretty bold red.)

I've got a couple outfits already - a red formal jacket with black pants and the other outfit is a white smock with light blue trim. I'd really like some fieldwear (this is for a doc - not a bounty hunter) but I'd love to hear some good color recommendations (especially with the new colors that have just been included).

Thanks.

Try gold or silver.

I have a blue Mon Cal that is a Doc, and he goes shirtless w/ white pants and white gunman's duster. Looks pretty good IMO.

I've never considered gold or silver. I might have to try that out. I know the white looks good, but I've already got the white smock and would like something with some more color to it. Thanks for the ideas. Any more?

Tans, grays, oranges, and possibly reds. Some other shades of blue, if you want a more subtle, monochrome look.

Thanks for the tips. I made a visit to my tailor last night and picked up a couple outfits. I just love 'em.

Outfit #1:

  • Pocketed Shorts (default white with a brown belt)

  • Muscle Shirt (baby blue with a navy blue stripe)

  • Sandals (brown on brown)

  • Short Sleeve Jacket (brown - optional piece)

This is a great outfit - it actually looks like something someone might really wear. Of course, I promptly caught a shuttle to Lok and killed Snorbals for a couple hours in my sandals. The rest of the group got a good laugh out of that.

Outfit #2:

  • PaddedJacket (blaze orange with black trim)

  • Paramilitary Camos (blaze orange and black)

  • Paneled Boots (black)

I haven't had much chance to wear this one much - I picked it up just before I logged off. But it's very nice if you want to make a statement. In fact, I had my tailor make the outfit - she put it on her vendor and someone else bought it before I got there to pick it up. So now there are two of us yahoos running around on Flurry with bright orange clothes.

Thanks again everyone.

first, if you have bold, dark skin colouring, try usung bright, light colours. Pale pastels or just faded colours (you don't want to draw away from your marvelous skin tones or conflict badly) golds and silvers are good, so are whites with black highlights. frankly, most people seem to wear black, white, brown, red or blue. Id avoid alot of greens if youre blue but try the often unrequested colours like oranges, yellows, peaches and cranberries. Note, however, that at present half of the tailor's clothing list works off of a very very limited colour palette. It may take some noodling to figure what clothing can take the colours you seek.

Here's a link that may be helpful-it's basically some simplified color theory (I call it 'color theory for dummies'-try as I might, I just can't 'get' the more complex concepts).
