Thread: A Ranger has a question and a complement for the Tailor Community
firstly, we recently had a post on the ranger boards about ranger haute couture.
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=ranger&message.id=37053
here we posted pics of us being stylish and dirty
Firstly: Thanks for all the hard, thankless work you all do to make all of us stylish. I have met several tailors in Lowca, and without fail all of them have been polite, helpful and a pleasure to do business with.
This part of the message is for no other reason than to say thanks...Im a male zabrak, but my closet appears to have been visited by the Fab Five. I have an outfit for almost every occasion.
My question, is this: As a hide supplier to armorsmiths, I have given a lot of hides to my tailor friends, and what stats do you look at when choosing an appropriate hide for clothing?
Thats all for now, thanks again
looks like I have a ton of wooly to give to my tailor friends

Hi! I can't remember if I am one of the tailors who has made things for you (I have a lot of friends in EC, so ,maybe), but thanks for the kind words! Anyway, as tailors we don't look for any particlar stats on hides, but we often need certain types of hides. I know that I often run out of bristly hide and wooly hides. Also, there are a few things which require even more specific hides. The two that we need there are tatooine wooly hide and nabooian scaley hide. I hope this helps you out, and if you see me (Momoko or Eimi) run by, say Hi!
Usually, because OQ doesn't matter, I scrape by on under 1k stacks, garnered from the generosity of guildmates or as "leftovers" from my fiance's armor business. I would positively kill for a 10k stack, like my armorsmith friends always seem to have. Tailors, as you may or may not know, don't have a lot of specific materials, and as such the "travelling tailor" is a viable profession- but not when we're carrying around 10 inventory slots of hide!!
And, actually, I use a lot of bristley. Everyone seems to be gaga for the pilot's jacket right now, and that takes 70 bristley per.
As for the tatooine wooly and the nabooan scaley... well each of those is used in 20 unit quantity in a specific pair of boots. The boots that take tatooine wooly, in my opinion, are not that special (ok, they're quite ugly and I don't make them). The nabooan scaley boots, even, don't sell particularly well and I don't make a whole lot of them. I think I've used up 500 units of nabooan scaley my entire time as a tailor (ummm... since day 1
). So don't drag your butt all the way to naboo or tatooine to try to make your local tailor happy - chances are he or she probably needs just generic wooly or bristley a lot more than the specific hides. If you get a tailor a 5k stack of one of those specific hides (should the tailor actually need it) that might last the tailor's "lifetime." The last time I sent anyone to tatooine or naboo was about 6 months ago.

I think I have used 500 units total of nabooian scaley hide, so they are not important but sometimes I get a big run on high quality boots. I'm not sure of why, but they suddenly go into fashion...and then back out. I usually try to keep 1-2K of it stocked.

And if you really, *really* want to make a tailor happy, find and give her Portions of Heavy Duty Leather!

I finally looted my first set of leather last night. Hooray for melee and bleed clothing, doctor buffs, entertainer buffs, drugs andthat newbrandyis all can say. Those tusken warlords are pretty mean.

Haha would be funny. I'll be back there tonight. Imagine the fighting over the loot though...
