Thread: Why does the Crafters Apron make an item with Clothing Experimentation

I read my first Crafters Apron when the schematics first started being given out. I had a friend of mine search the galaxy for find some Heavy Duty Leather so I could make this new otufit. Finally after a few days, I got the components I needed and made my first crafters apron. The final product showed me a crafters apron with the following mods: Clothing Assembly +5, Clothing Experimentation +5.


This is absolutely useless. Clothing can't be experimented on at all, none of it. So this new schematic is worthless. So to get rid of this schematic I have to make two more of these worthless aprons. The great news is that the components cost more than this apron is worth. So after shelling out some cash for some Leather, I got the schematic out of my datapad. Whew that was over. So I go and read a new Crafter's Apron schematic and I get the same damn one again.


Is there something we don't know about tailoring? Are they adding experimentation into the profession? If I surrender all my tailoring skills will that get rid of the schematic? At this point I would be more than happy to surrender Tailor and regrind it to get the schematic out of my datapad.


By the way, I'm a master tailor and even I don't want this apron.


It is nice that the devs thought about tailors and tried to give them some item for them, but you missed the mark a little. If you wanted to give us something, and apron that had a bonus to custimization would have been wonderful if it gave us a few more colors.

It's like the grenade belt, there are some useless mods on it.


Still, the +5 assembly might cut down on crit fails. And you can always put it beside your vendor as a display. An expensive display.......

Each type of apron takes up a different slot in your datapad. So if you come across another apron schematic, read it. You can have the food, medicine, and clothing aprons all in the list at the same time. If you can't read the schem, then it's the same as one you already have.


Theoretically, the new crafting system reduces critical fails as you advance in experimentation, so eventually these bonuses will be worth something to Tailors. No idea if and when this goes live, though.

There are only two rational explanations to the inclusion of this item.


1) The devs know something we don't and are adding usefull experimentation to the tailor profession.


2) The devs are unutterably clueless about their own game and have crossed the threshold from stupidity to incompetence.



I think we all know which of those explanations is more likely.
