Just wanted to add my 2 cents since possibly the fine folks that serve as the deveopment staff for this game will actually look at a post with a large number of entries.

I just made master tailor last night, only to discover that none of my schematics worked, with the lonely exception of the simple shirt. My hats off to all of you who have advanced up through the ranks and fuction as both armorsmiths AND tailors under this bug. You dererve something from the dev staff for perservereing in the face of an idiotic mistake of theirs.

To the dev staff all I have to say is "C'mon guys..." This is pretty weak to be encountering this kind of a known issue this late in the actual release of a game. I mean we can argue about whether items should decay, and that is a gameplay balance question - I don't whine too much about the lack of creative solutions there (though don't take that as a green light to sit on your collective duffs regarding that issue), but this is simply a major part of the game that doesn't work, and that is deserving of the prompt application of your best effort to fix. If a player suddenly couldn't use a ranged weapon skill if he or she were facing north, would you expect them to develop elaborate schemes to move creatures around so they didn't have to fire north acceptable? No, I didn't think so. If your overtime budget is so tight, see me. I'll send the beer and pizza over so you can entice a few programmers to spend a weekend fixing this problem.

Thank you for your kind attention to this matter.

I've memorized most of my component schematic numbers by now, and some of my customers' favorites (as well as all the Ubese and Padded numbers )... but man would it be nice to have a fully functional crafting tool.

Pretty pleeeease?

heheheh. I wanted to be an armorsmith when I first started playing. For some reason I quit armorsmithing after getting around 5 boxes in armorsmithing and went to tailoring. Once I hit master tailoring (around 2 months or more ago) I couldn't make anything. I had people send in /bugs. Posted on the forums, sent in emails... pleaded, begged, and gave up. I dropped armorsmithing. Haven’t regretted it since. I would be going out of my mind if I still had to wait and couldn't make master tailor items. Soo... I went master dancer instead of armorsmithing

That IS good news! I really hope it's fixed this time... I don't even remember how to craft normally anymore.

Well, now I know what the hell happened to my tailor girl. I just can't believe....wait, sadly, I can believe that SOE is ignoring this. Maybe they think that by ignoring it, somehow, it will fix itself or we will magically forget about it. It is unfortunate that this behavior doesn't surprise me, after 4 years of playing EQ, it seems like it is company policy for them to "add" stuff and keep us distracted while they manage to ignore what needsfixing andbreak stuff that worked perfectly before theirpatches.. I won't even get started on that...

I can't not even put into words how upset, pissed off, frustrated, I feel at the moment.

Thanks SOE for this LOVELY evening!

Well, I thought I'd bump this thread one last time with the following comments, then let it pass away in well-deserved peace

If you are both a Tailor and Armorsmith, your crafting tools are now fixed when you're near a crafting station. I verified this on my server this afternoon. No more /selectdraftschematic, no more checking spreadsheets and lists to remember what schematic goes with what number. My crafting tools now show all schematics, so I can craft normally. Finally!

I chcked it this morning for a short bit. I am still having trouble getting all the schematics to load up when crafting. It could have ben that I wasn't in the right spot for the crafting station. But with Master Tailor and Master Armorsmith, I have well over 300 schematics just for clothing and armor. I even tried the /loadschematic thing that i used to use. Nothing. All the high numbers for the schematics loaded heat resist layers. I will investigate this further this afternoon.
