Thread: The new game...

And Miss Luka... I am thinking, next time please be not so eager to update their Knowledge Base for them, will you? Or slanting people critisizing you for it? Right now, you look a little sad in my perspective. Like a lackey, honestly. A slave.
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to draw some extremely inaccurate and rather inflammatory comparisons between a computer game and a regime in Germany in the 1930s. Bleh.
N'Jessi and Mira, thank you very much for your dedication to the game and the professions you're correspondents for. I really appreciate the work you have been and are doing in sharing information with both devs and the community -- even though the prospect of these changes makes me feel sick.
Why don't they just call it SWG II and leave SWG well enough alone?
Maheret wrote:ok I had 2 questions.... The first one seems to almost have been answered, what is to become of Bio Wear, I have over 900 items of it in stock, I hope it doesnt become worthless... and the second question comes from this quote in the new FAQ:Knowing this could be a difficult transition for many of our players, we have lined-up several options to help make this as easy as possible. First, you will be allowed to choose any one of the nine professions and transition to that profession at a level commensurate with your current level. For example, if you are maxed-out at level 80, you will transition over as a level 80 character into your profession of choice. Veterans (all players having started their characters before the enhancements are introduced) will receive nine review (“re-spec”) opportunities that allow them to sample the new professions before making a final decision. This gives everyone the opportunity to try out each of the new professions at least once at their current skill level. In the event you are unhappy with your choice of profession, you can “re-spec” and try out one of the others until you find the one you like best or until you are at your final opportunity.
So if I am a Level 1 Tailor/Merchant/ID now, will I transfer over to a level 1 character and have to regrind everything out? Should I use my token respec now and make myself level 80? not sure where this leaves me or my 2 million a week buisiness, but after being a tailor for 2 years I am all of a sudden a bit worried
Any answers or insight would be great, thank you.

Well before this goes live, I'd burn the token for no other reason to get your badges for skills that will no longer exist. It doesn't sound like an old token will add to the new ones. Oh if it does, hold onto it, but I doubt that.

Well, it will change tailoring as we know it. I think we get to make the same exact stuff that we made before, but tailoring is now rolled into a "domestic" linear path with merchant and chef stuff (every crafting prof gets merchant).
so only traders will be getting vendors?
I believe so. (Not invited to test myself.)
sorry... Lightening it up a little bit...
That skirt new chars can get that we can't craft.... hahahahaha! It will become the new HAWT item to have. Remember back when the Mayoral Robe, Cargo Vest and Basic Camos were non-craftables? Loot drops only. And they sold quite well as I recall. ![]()

Here is my question.. it isn't about crafting, but I have not seen this mentioned and hoped that someone could answer...
How will JTL be effected by this? Will the professions change, how about ships and parts? And just to make a crafting question, how will new shipwright skills (or whatever they want to call it) work in the new system?

There was a dev post somewhere, I think. Pilot will still exist, just the order you get skill boxes in will change. Items will stay and be converted to new stats. SW, no idea. (I only know what's been posted on the forums, mind you, so maybe Jessi knows more.)

From the Dev Tracker, this is going to Test Center on Friday (11/4), and will be going live around Tuesday, November 15th. (And yes, that's not quite two weeks from now.)
10 days. It goes to Test Center this Friday which is the 4th. It will go live on the 15th.
Yes, your current token respec will go away. Use it for badges before this goes to live.
Yes, currently only Traders get vendors. Everyone who has them already will keep them, though.
Hope this helps,

Nj and Mira can you please try and find out more info on the respec deal?
I am going to totally be changing my template. I am going full jedi and making my second character into a tailor.
Now my main character, chiana is a tailor, merchant, dancer and has fs boxes.
I want to know if I can truly respec fully into a jedi... I do not want to be penelized for being CL 1 and having a non-combat profession.
This was the push I needed to just go for full Jedi but if I am going to get screwed because of my current template, then I will most likely just quit. I know the last time they did a respec it was all messed up... combat to combat and the loss of skills points. I want an even trade for my respec... not some system that will make me a CL jedi with no skills. My current build has got to transfer into meaningful combat skill points.
Just please see if you can find any information on this because for me this will be the make or break deal. I already did my grind... I do combat just not on my padawan.
