Thread: TC has item decay now...
Xelenewrote:
Ummm.... yeah, you'd lose your items after two hours of gameplay if you died every 20 minutes, or got incapped every 3.5 minutes. It's been weeks since I last died, and days since I've been incapped... granted, I don't fight much, but then again I also don't group up and have a healer when I do. People who are dying and getting incapped a ton are probably playing in a risky manner, and it's no wonder... right now, there's practically no death penalty. I have friends that consider razorcats teleports to town.
This change solves *two* problems, not just one.
Xelene, you are either an abnormal player, very lucky, don't play oftenor a complete artisan/tailor who stays in cities. As a member of a faction, you get attackedconstantly... Constantly.
The only problem the currentTC change fixes isthe wookiediversityproblem: if this patch goes through, within a month half the remaining combatants will have rerolled as wookies.
I really find it hard to believe thatthe development team intended this change. Maybethey misplaced the decimals. I don't know, but I do know that it doesn't take much thought to realise that stripping a player of everything they own over a short period of time will not endear them to this game.
As I said, if this does go to live (and it looks like it will), it will be pulled out in a hotfix very quickly. Lots of people don't have much holding them to the game right now...infuriating themfurther will cause someof those that are on the fence tocancel their accounts.
You may disbelieve me, butlets adapt the situation to a pure-crafter...How would you feelitevery time you had a critical crafting failure, all of your equipment (including your house and its furniture)lost 20% of its durability? Not to good, I would imagine. And after reading somesomearchitect on their profession board praising the patch andhow ithelps architects sell more shops and houses doesn't make you all too happy with their profession.
