Thread: Possible to still be a good tailor without making BE items?

I'm still selling plenty of non-bio items. And not just by special order to entertainers - most of whom couldn't care less about Myoflex, believe me - but also on the vendors. I have a Bio-Engineered vendor right next to my standard one, and I can rifle through my Item Sold e-mails and see every day that I sold the exact same non-bio-engineered item before I sold the bio version, even if the bio version was only 1,000 credits or so more expensive.

There's still plenty of demand for non-BE tailors. There are players who wear armor in combat exclusively (ie, virtually every high-end Bounty Hunter, Commando, or Teras Kasi/Doctor) and just need normal clothes to change into out of combat so people can tell what race and gender they are.

There are entertainers who either don't have the extra money (or would rather just have more non-BE clothes with that money), or who have come to realize that the Myoflex benefits just about everyone but them; how many entertainers out there really want their favorite customers to leave faster than they already do?

There are roleplayers - yes, they exist - who buy multiple outfits for any number of assorted reasons.

And there's even a fairly new business that's opened up in dressing the vendors of Merchants with Hiring IV (completely and totally rock-solid awesome, by the way). Obviously, there's no good reason to put bio-engineered items on a vendor when not only does he/she/it not benefit from the stats, but customers can't even see whether or not the vendor's clothing is bio-modified.

Plus, there are still plenty of items that can't be bio-engineered at all. Boots, gloves, belts, packs, and jewelry may not seem to have a huge market, but just wait until the other tailors stop making them because they want to focus on selling bio-engineered items, and you'll be unloading them hand over fist. (As if I wasn't before, I swear if I sell one more set of Black Long Uniform Gloves and Black Uniform Boots...)

If anything, the new bio-engie market will probablystrip away all the "leet dewds" and "make me look badass" types to leave you with a core of much saner and less annoying customers. Ideally, anyway.

Good point about entertainers. The only entertainer enhanced items I have sold were for a gift.
