Thread: Male:Female Tailor Ratio?
My PA leader tells me that the women seem to make the best clothes, weapons and armor than the male crafters he comes across. He says they put more effort into what they do and also follow throughand it shows. I am just passing on the information HE gave me. I find high quality workfrom male and female crafters alike.
Male player, human male character. I have yet to run into another male Master Tailor on Kettemoor, but there might be one because I mostly don't hang out with other Tailors.
When Blight wrote his Guide to Tailoring, his suggestion was if you wanted to self-model the highest possible number of clothes, be a female Twi'lek. The other advantage to a Tailor of playing a Twi'lek is that in the early game, when you're hand-sampling longer, Twi'leks have higher caps on Action stats, which means that they sample more efficiently. So it hardly surprises me to see lots of female Twi'lek tailors.
I definitely see more female tailors than male tailors on Chilastria. Seeing a maletailor is always a treat -- I love seeing what they wear. Most of the male tailors I have encountered also seem to be roleplayers, which to me is another reason to mailtailor++
Femina sum. Deir est Dea.
RL male playing a human male
But my wife plays the game as well, so sometimes its a RL female playing a human male
RL male (who ironically hates shopping for clothes :smileyvery-happy
playing a male Trandoshian tailor (another rarity - Dosh tailor)
My character mainly specializes in military uniforms and hunting wear. My shop is called Rebela's Outfitters as a take off of the wonderful Cabela's Outfitters. I am obviously a Rebel. Being a guy many are surprised that I am able to create outfits or uniforms that look good. But I also role play my character who will only very reluctantly make dresses or formal wear and if he does he complains and grumbles a lot and if I know the customer will role play back I may even make fun of some of my regular customers for what they are ordering.
Male RL playing a female Twi'lek.
It just turned out that way since I started out as a dancer ![]()
Female playing a female tailor.
Although I might skew your sample a bit, since my original intent was to be a weaponsmaster. *grins* Circumstances led me this direction instead, and I've found I love it. On the other hand, I hate shopping for clothes, too. Go figure.. *laughs*
Male : Male Mon Cal.
Part of Intergalactic Outfitters, Near Eisely on Tatooine and near Coronet On Corellia.I've seen one other male Tailor on Tempest. (but I dont get out much)
Male playing a Male Tailor.
My original concept for the character was Farmer, Politician, Tailor, but there are no farmers. ![]()
I rationalized (and was correct beyond my wildest dreams) that being a tailor would put me in contact with players that I could interact with politically.
RbT
Female IRL, female Twi'lek.
Oh, and Brad.. there is at least 1 other male human master tailor on Kettemoor, with another two skill boxes away (and that's just in the Keren area).
That tailor guide makes a good point - female twi'leks do get to wear the best clothes. :-)
