I had a similar experience to Kazey's. Had the life sucked out of me when I took up an advisor role in the last MMORPG I played, and I never want to go through that again. It is precisecly why I am stubbornly flying solo in SWG. While I would love to have a whole guild full of friends to help out with supplies, surveying and extra lots, the last thing I want is the feeling of obligation without return. So far I have had 4 offers to join a guild, all of which I turned down flat because there was no attempt to get to know me. I realized immediately they were only out to benefit from my skills and probably couldn't give a bantha crap about me as a person.
