Thread: Clothing Wishlist
Anarchy Online also has Skorts for Skirts, and there is a reason why this is done. Its not even a perverse one. If you place a piece of clothing in a house, you'll notice you can look inside of it, but what you see is the surface of the wall beyond (or whatever's beyond). This is because many in game objects are rendered with only one side. To render the other side most rendering engines have an option to Force 2-Sided. The problem is that the option to render both sides isnt polygon specific (at least in everything I have used); Its global meaning every polygon will have twice the maps, cutting down on the rendering speed by half. 50% performance lossvs. skorts...
There are workarounds to everything though, but some of those could be tough to incorporate with their setup. For example on skirts, you could specifically have 2 polygons, one that faces in and one that faces out; like a very thin hollow cylinder. Yet maybe that wont work with their method of moving fabrics, one face might clip through the other causing an invisible plane(back of the inner panel)to bleed through the outer panel (front side). This would look awful - like parts of you are turning invisible as you run.
I just wanted to point out that its harder than it sounds, and if anyone was not worried about perverts it was Anarchy Online. They probably wanted upskirt shots and were disappointed that they couldnt get them. I would wager that there is more to the matter than sneaky panty views.
hoods (jedi always had hoods)
capes (Lando wore a cape)
uniform choices (especially when player cities have militias)
Aprons, For cooks, smiths, and doctors/bio-engineers
Tank-tops, like the male wears while naked (but fashionable in colors/prints)
turtle-necks
Trandoshan specific clothes
Bounty-hunter specific wearable containers (usable utility belts, utility bracers); perhaps smuggler too
canes
1. Fishnet Stockings
2. Swimwear (Male and Female)
3. Decent Skirts
4. Loincloth
5. Tankini
6. Better shoe options. Not boots mind you SHOES.
7. Leg Warmers
8. Leotards.
9.Sleeveless shirts
10.Sweaters
11.Belts that you can actually wear and not look like you are wearing your mothers belt.
12. Cloaks with hoods
13. Nightcloths
More Male clothing. Do you know what it's like being male and getting a new skill to find most everything is skirts/dresses/shoes (Casual I) C'mon!!
1.Rebel Pilot helmets
2. Kilts! Enough said.
3. The cloth padding they wear on thier headsunder the Rebel Pilot Helmets
4. Those things Lobot had on his ears. Space Earmuffs?
5. That gadgetry that goes on the front of a Rebel Flightsuit (come on, without that they just don't look right)
6. Stockings/thigh-highs
7. Socks. You look rediculous in Dress Shoes with no socks.
8. My wife wants "higher" high heels
9. Lando Capes and the Boba Fett cape-like cloth "oh I just threw this on at the last second" kinda thing
10. That damned newbie Pocketed Vest that everyone wants in black.
Besides capes and tank tops, and more hats...
Forearmwraps, or at least a version of the long uniform gloves with two-tones so we can pretend they are (the same way we pretend "tipless gloves" are).
I've had requests for taller boots, like knee-height.
More further down the road...
Better clothes layering (why can't I wear cold weather gloves and a short sleeve jacket? I can wear boots and long pants)
Ability to use all (available) colors on all items - maybe master only, but I know there's demand for blue and red dusters, or more full-colored boots, etc.
If I were to make an additional tailoring profession (maybe an “elite-elite” tailoring profession) and if it would follow the same structure as the one now (more schematics at every level instead of being able to put together your own items from separate pieces, like selecting which sleeves, neckline, buttons, pattern, etc… I’ll make an additional post on this) I’d make it something like this:
This would include swimsuits, martial art wear, fishing gear, tennis-type wear (short skirt, t-shirt, socks), etc.
This would include the more crazy stuff like clown suits, cybernetic enhancements, hats, eye-patches, wookiee costumes (let non-wookiees dress up like the huggable fur balls
), fake lekku, etc. Could even have some more ‘formal’ party wear like wedding outfits.
This would include PJs, negligees, stockings, lingerie, teddies, various types of underwear (bras, thongs, strings, etc).
This would include a lot of the more basic ‘missing’ stuff like miniskirts, earrings, ankle bracelets, accessories (like purses, fanny packs and feminine back backs), women’s boots, ankle boots, high heels, more hats, tank tops, hair pieces, turtle-necks, etc.
Of course you could also but the sport wear under casual, the fashion wear under formal, the night wear split between casual and formal (the more decent stuff under formal) and party wear under field. Though I think we have enough here to fill another profession easy. (And this is coming dangerously close to getting “elite-elite-elite” professions
).
I can also imagine them making a new tailoring profession for the Space Expansion that we can take next to our current professions.

Good list of things you'd like to see Ayane, but I'd be really disappointed if they added an elite-elite tailoring profession that was just more schematics. We've been talking about this in a different thread, and it would be frustrating to be reduced from a Master Tailor (once I get master
) to a Halfway Tailor and be forced to give up all of my secondary skills to keep on with Tailoring. I have faith that if they're going to add new content that can easily be incorportated into the existing classes, they'll just do that.
Here's a list of what I'd love to see:
- tank tops
- capri pants
- more varieties of skirts (mid-calf length, knee length, and shorter)
- socks (ankle and knee length)
- stockings (with variouspatterns: ribbed, striped, fishnets)
- more "girly" boots
- sneakers (those shoes they call sneakers are repulsive)
- more hats (my favorite rodian needs a fedora badly)
- different styles of belts (really thick ones, really thin ones, metal belts)
- more interesting styles for guys, especially more formal wear
And I'd love for us to be able to eventually put simple graphics on things like shirts and the backs of jackets. Either some design from a preset list, or one we create pixel by pixel ourselves (that would almost be like a little mini-game).
I've seen something on a NPC bothan on Lok that I really want, and for all I know it may be in and I just haven't seen it on a pc.
It's a metal/chain waistband, with a strip of cloth hanging down from the front and back, but leaves the sides free.
I wouldn't want more short skirts in game. Reason being, is that Sony doesn't realise that women stand different than men do. My female characters all stand like men with their feet about a foot apart, knees apart, and it's horribly obvious when wearing short skirts. They make females look like some kind of 'Tootsie' character, and looking like a cross dresser isn't something I really want for my look.
They're allowed to add more short skirts after they make the females stand with their ankles together. (They can go look at the DAoC character models, that was one thing Mythic got right)
Other items I would love to see:
--more racial specific headwear, and more headwear in general
--earrings for those species with prominent ears -I keep getting asked about feathered earrings for Rodians
--the metal bikini bottoms from the movie, which apparently actually exist as artwork already
--belly dance outfits with dangling beads, veils etc
blah no edit command
I forgot one outfit I would LOVE to see:
--Chippendale's type outfit for guys!
