Thread: Redid the FAQ am I missing anything? (Now including Ithorian stuff...)

My suggestion to make crates easy to identify: put the serial number in the name. It's in the stats box when naming the item.
With these abbreviations, the serial number should be visible at the default inventory icon size:
FP (abcdefgh)
SC (ijklmnop)
RFP (qrstuvwx)
Trim (yz123456)
JS (7890zyxw)
SS (vutsrqpo)
MF (nmlkjihg)
CP (fedcba09)
AP (87654321), but I've never had it on the vendor. (I do schematics for Armorsmiths sometimes.)
Do the abbreviations get used enough to put them in the FAQ? (It would be for the non-Tailors dropping in; I think most of us could figure out what they all are without too much trouble.
Many tailors put the date on the factory run, instead of the serial number. That seems to be a pretty standard practice. It's not in the FAQ?

I actually do both. Sometimes I may run more than one run on the same day.
Yeah when that happens I'll do "Synth Cloth 10/13(1)" and "Synth Cloth 10/13(2)"

It is in the FAQ; I was offering an alternative and wondering if other Tailors did things the same way I do. My crate business has done pretty well, so I try to keep a couple factories hopping. With the shorter names and different leading characters, it's more likely people will be able to tell the different runs apart without having to change widths in the vendor window. Anything to help people find stuff quickly!

There are so many - I was thinking for catalogs and whatnot, just having a link to the main "directory".

What materials will I need?
You will need the following, but not necessarily all at once. If you want to check what materials you will need for future schematics in a particular line, see Swgcraft. Here is a complete list
General materials:
Specific materials (in small amounts)
- Fiberplast
- Polymer - though many items will accept lubricating oil, others will not. Best to just mine Polymer
- Steel
- Copper
- Metals of any type (though it's more efficient to just mine steel or copper
- Amorphous Gemstone
- Crystalline Gemstone
- Wooly Hides
- Bristley Hides
- Any Hides
- Iron (in small amounts)
- Ore (in small amounts)
- Plexite Amorphous Gemstone
- Green Diamond Crystalline Gemstone
- Thoraneum Steel
- Titanium Aluminum
- Tatooine Wooly Hide
- Nabooan Scaley Hide

In preparation for Ithorian wearables, I've started the "FAQ revamp". This is significantly more "idiot proof" than the last version. Please let me know if I'm missing anything.
Sorry I was unclear - you don't need to PM me with additions, subtractions, etc, please feel free to post them here (the "PM me" line is for the final version when I don't want responses. Since I'm going to be pasting this over the old faq, post away here!)
What do I do if I've made a mistake!? I only had 27 hide and I needed 40 in the slot!
Simply double click the slot and the mistaken item will come out back into your inventory.
I dont know if its justme but Ive tried this and on most occasions at this step, when you double click to remove the resource from the slot you get a promt that says:"Internal Server Error: Bad crafting component" or something like it. And after clicking ok to this the only option is to click back on the window and start at the previous step to fill the slot with the needed amount of resource. And its only been with making clothes to my knowledge. When making artisan goods, this doesn't usually happen.
Mailsaves are in your swg folder. It's under your station name, and then I guess it's divided into character names if you have more than one (not sure I only have one.)

Hi All,
Is the Merchant Friend the same as the Tailor Buddy? I have that downloaded but can't seem to get it to work. I've tried to find the place where my mail saves, but am unable to locate it. Can someone please give me a clue as to where to look?
Also, does anyone know of an updated pricing calculator w/ the Ithorian wear added? I love Z's calculator and use it as prices for ingridients fluxuate. A big kudos to those who figured out how to create it and let us use it...
I don't know about you all, but I am having so much fun making the Ithorian wear and dressing my vendor...(I don't know any Iths yet). I think I waist more on my vendor than I sell LOL.
I read the threads religiously and value all of your wisdom.
