Also, after reading arthurs report on fan fest (very good and makes me feel okay that i missed it when people like you report this stuff but still sad i missed it none the less) I'm very dissapointed and disheartened with the 'attending' dev's views and opinions on Tailor. After i took a good healthy break from the game i came back and found the holo grind, i got cought up in it i admit but i chose tailor because it looked fun and was a crafting class that didn't look as complex as armor smith, i chose this prof not some silly blue box, and i've had alot of fun with it... heck in fact on shadowfire i'm now known as the Fighting Tailor and people respect and cheer me on in pvp events. I love this prof just as much as i do Fencer (which i found from an evil blue box) and to hear the designers of the game make such statements makes me feel truely like the **edit** proffesion of SWG. I mean smugglers have it bad as they are only really used for slicing, but at least they have an OBVIOUS light at the end of the tunnel. I fear our light may just be an on comming train =[

I have faith in n'jessi and if she should step down i have faith that the one to take over will do us justice as well. Hearing that Arthur is thinking of dropping tailor dissapoints me and really sends a note of discord home but i think and hope i'll stick it out even though we seem to be all but forgetten by the dev's. *sniff* i love my hot pants.

learn to adapt to the situation you have put your character in. i do not need to adapt my proffesion to accomodate yours.

Well let's put it this way - the answer we got in the 19 questions were that they were working on it now. I got that same answer from the people working on it. But the people working on it aren't the people on the panel. The people on the panel were working on space. Soooo... that off-the-cuff answer shouldn't be taken as gospel just because those were the panel devs. They work on Space.

They are working on it. For real.

Besides, they said it was already on the schedule, so I would expect that they will get it done. Whats beginning to scare me is that the focus of the game seems to be shifting so much. Maybe it is just because of the jedi revamp and JTL but it seems with incredibly powerful jedi and space ships that it will basically be Jedi PvP wars on the ground and space battles in space. This could lead to a very fun game for some people, but it isn't exactly *my* playstyle. Making jedi extremely powerful, appealing and accessable might put most of the non-space related crafters out of business (they don't need weapons, armor, clothes or almost anything else) while the people who want more action will be out shooting each other in space. This could lead to a very streamlined and initially appealing game, but I don't think it is a good idea. I know a lot of people who have left to go play City of Heros because it is simple, streamlined, people are powerful and it has lots of action. Almost all of these people have come back to SWG after a month or so because it simply becomes days and days of more of the same thing. The variety in SWG is part of what makes it work and I hope that the developers realize this!

Gyopi,

To follow up on what you said, what bothers me even more than that, is that for all the crafting professions where experimentation is important, I believe it is only matter of time before Jedi (or more specifically force sensitivity) will be sort of an unwritten prerequisite. It may be what separates the noobs from those who have played for a while. And if the Jedi missions involve combat (and how could they not?) then combat now becomes a prerequisite for crafting. So in affect we're back to holo grinding (drop crafting, pick up an uber combat template, grind that, do Jedi missions, get force sensitivity, now go back and grind crafting again). And all this just to make guns or armor or whatever for people who are not Jedi. Sheesh. Why not just let the force sensitive crafters cater exclusively to the Jedi?

Arthur that was a wonderful report. I have beenvery concerned about the tailoring profession for a long time.Everything I have read confirms that I need to re-evaluate my role in this game (and that includes if I should continue to play at all).

On a lighter note....What was the funniest thing that you saw at Fan Fest?

Oh that's a no-brainer... the videos that were submitted by fans. You wouldn't believe how awesome (and hilarious) those are. I really hope they post a link to them somewhere if they haven't already (although I've got them all captured on my handy video cam). Some folks created videos, complete with rockin soundtracks based on in-game footage involving really intricately coreographed moves with like a dozen "actors" or more. And of course everything is funnier when you are in a room with 1000 people all laughing at the same thing, lol.

There were a couple of dancing ones, one beauty pagent one including all the different categories: talent, bathing suit, evening gowns, and all that. Another about stormstroopers that I thought was brilliant, and more.

Makes me wish I had submitted an entry of my own. Next time (if I'm still playing) you can bet that I will.
