Well, I started on June 27, 2003 with Novice Artisan. Since then, I've mastered artisan and Noviced Tailor. Currently, I'm still working on getting to Master Tailor and its been over a year! Right now I have, 4-2-0-2. I don't grind. I can't stand grinding. The way I earn my xp is when I make something that I am going to sell, that's it. Otherwise, I'm having a great time, I'm watching the money roll in and all without Master Tailor.

As for when I will get to Master Tailor, I think it will be about another 2 or 3 more months. I'm 12K xp away from Field 3, then moving on to Field 4. After Field is done, I'll start on Formal and lastly Techniques.

A couple of months, but that was long before Christmas '03, and some of that was before "practice mode."

I mastered artisan and tailor in two weeks or so. Sad to say, there's not much point in trying to make a living out of most professions unless you're a master, hence the mind-numbing grinding of ammo bandoliers. The first profession I mastered (medic) took me two months or so, letting stuff take its time. I think I had more fun doing that, even though I thoroughly enjoy the tailor profession.

Started a couple of weeks after launch and mastered last week of July or first week of August 2003. Ah the memories.

I think it took me about a week and a half, though if I'd been more focused on grinding through it would have been much quicker. I reached Master Tailor last night, and spent around an hour running around picking up crates of components to hold me over until I can get my factory set up.

As I was coming out of the starport in Coronet, I got stopped for my first post-Master order. =) It actually turned into two orders as a cute little Bothan came by and wanted to change his look.

I wanted to get through tailor as quickly as possible, for the colors and selection. Now that I'm Master, I'm mostly pleased. Though, my first order wanted a pair of blue boots.

I had a lot of help along the way. A friend helped me out with a lot of resources and money to keep me going. I've been mostly self sufficient for the last half-week or so, running out to my little BER3 and 4 mineral and chemical harvesters. I'm also training as an unmarmed brawler (eventually gonna go Teras Kasi Artist) to help defend myself out around my harvesters. So far, it's paid off.

Now, I just need to get myself Business III (at least), and possibly some Merchant to set up a vendor for some sales.

I'mvery happy so far (well, except the missing/lacking colors) and having lots of fun making outfits.

CapricornONE, i am assuming by the fieldwear 4 grind you meant this process and resource grind, TOTAL 819,200 XP is needed for tailoring
So For Column 1 Fieldwear 4, doing ribbed shirts, you need 1463 shirts and 2158 cartirdge belts totaling 3,621 items to be crafted, 8.94 seconds each item if you can click that fast would let you master tailor in 9 hours

Tailoring:
Gained by crafting items from the Tailor profession.
Use the same tips from the Artisan General Crafting guide.
Grind:
Novice: Ribbed Shirt (147xp – 30 Fiberplast, 30 Metal) --> Field Wear 4

Well sadly, I mastered in i believe 4 days and just got master today! I love it all and I don't think I will ever bring myself to giving upi tailer. But the reason i was able to master so fast was because i'm a new age newbie, so macros are around for me to use. Kind of wish i took it slow but i wanted all the stuff.
