Thread: NEW CLOTHES

SOE is a huge company, one shouldn't think that there's only like one team of five techies running around handling the whole damn game.
I really want to see new clothing designs ingame, especially in jackets and footwear!

I'd also love to see new content, I was very disappointed that "Rage of the Wookiees" gave wooks absolutely nothing in terms of new clothing or increased colour palettes. But .... and it's a very big but ... I agree with the people saying "please fix the tailor bugs first before you introduce new content and the inevitable new bugs".
At the moment it seems that every new bit of content (wherever it's introduced) has an adverse effect on tailoring. Now I know this isn't actuallytrue .... but it's the way it feels. Since the CU we've seen factory production borked because of an inability to get colours to stick, BE broken completely, clothing items losing their colour palette, lag introduced into the crafting process, complete lines of clothing/tissues/schematics being made irrelevantand an increase in the frequency and severity of the vendor email issues (I know that mytailor vendorsdo not, and never have, sold "Natural Weapons" ..... unless you count Cerise Winged Hawtpants
).
And all of the above is separate from the fact that the CU itself caused many tailors to have to destroy much of their stock of BE clothing (because the labels no longer matched the abilities) and we all had to go through the pain of removing every item from the vendor and into our inventories so we could relist it all (a mammoth pain in the neck for those of us carrying 2000 or more items). OK, this was a one off pain and it could be argued that the CU itself made tailors more popular, so personally I'd call this "even stevens".
But given the above I think you may be able to see why new content is low down my list at the moment. I want to see the tailor (and Merchant/general crafting) issues sorted. I want the people who know about the crafting part of the system to be working 24x7 on fixing the bugs. I have no problems with the graphic design office working on new clothing in parallel but I want the people who apply the code to the system to be fixing our profession. I also want them to be learning how all aspects of the game fit together so we don't have acontinuation of the "death by a thousand cuts" that we're seeing at the moment.
That all sounds very "gimme, gimme, gimme" .... maybe because I keep saying "I want"
but it's because I really enjoy playing this game. I came to it comparatively late (only been playing for 14 months) and I want it to continue for many more years. If SOE keep piling in new content on top of broken code then the system will finally break under the strain and then it's "Bye, bye SWG". I don't want that to happen.
Cheers,
Gawgax

I am in agreement really, I'd LOVE to see new tailoring content... but I am also 100% in agreement that they need to fix what is broke first.
Right now if they added new clothing, without fixing the factory bug.. ..all I can say is "ouch.. the pain"! Laugh if you will, but I'm being serious here. When they added the new clothing with JTL, I ran factory crates of Cloaks and some of the other new items.. and I literally sold them faster than my factory could make them. I know for a fact I made well over 100 cloaks by hand, not to mention the ones I ran in my factory the first day they went live. When something new comes into this game, people HAVE to have it because it doesn't happen often.
So where as I am in full support of new content.. I'd want factory crafting fixed first.. because having gone thru JTL clothing.. I don't think I could handle it otherwise lol
Why do people always respond with "fix this first" rather than supporting new content?
