Well I did post my thoughts on the merchant forum about he vendor limit nerf and I will repost it here. Seeing as how many of you won't read it because its on page 26 and at the rate the posts are going over there, average 4-5 per minute. Here's my thoughts:

Business 3: 1 vendor - 100 items the vendor

Novice Merchant : 2 vendors - Max of 200 items on each vendor. Total stockable items = 400

Management 1: 3 vendors - Max of 300 items on each vendor. Total stockable items = 900

Management 2: 4 vendors - Max of 400 items on each vendor. Total stockable items = 1600

Management 3: 5 vendors - Max of 500 items on each vendor. Total stockable items = 2500

Management 4: 6 vendors - Max of 600 items on each vendor. Total stockable items = 3600

Master Merchant: 7 vendors - Max of 700 items on each vendor. Total stockable items = 4900

As a Master Artisan/Working to Master Tailor I find Cafa'sproposed limits acceptable and livable. I am also working toward Master Pistoleer to have fun when I'm not crafting. With the DEV proposed merchant changes, I would have to drop many skill points in Artisan, Scout, Marksman and Pistoleer just to be able to have a workable vendor limit. Currently I have 2 vendors with Hiring 1, on my clothing vendor I have well over 300+ items and that's without Master Tailor yet!!! On my loot and componets vendor I have over 200 items. And I do about 50-100 sales per day.

Cutting the items per vendor would severlycripple my game play as I would spend all my available time (READ: Casual Player) restocking my vendors. With Cafa's proposed limits, I could still keep my tailor and pistoleer, while having 3 vendors with decent stock and be able to play the game. Not come home from work and go to work in a virtual world.

Not to mention at Master Tailor I get to make 240 different schematics for clothing. If I were to get Master Merchant just so I could stock 660 items that is each schematic in 2.75 colors (and .75 piece of clothing doesn't cut it). As it stands now there are a handful of working tailors with fully stocked vendors with items that are decently priced. So I guess we'll start to see every tailor on every server stock black and white or black and redclothing that will be outrageously priced. It is about supply and demand and the demand would be much, much higher than the supply.

My last thoughts are that getting rid of the empty vendors is a good thing. Cutting the vendor limit so ridiculously low is ubsurd. Being a hybird profession, I was disheartened by the push back of the combat balance, this is just another slap in the face to the other side of my character.

*cries & pouts at the thought of this nerf* I have just enough points to invest in Business 3. That gives me just enough points to 'have' a vendor. I already hate the fact that it is limited to 100 items and is a bulky generic machine. Now??? 50??? OMG!!!!

I've done the custom order thing but got tired of it. I love to have my freedom and am always out running about. I love the fact that I can tell someone to please check my vendor if they are looking for something. Now?? Who knows with such a limited number if I'll be able to honestly say that anymore.

Why oh why do they keep doing this to crafters? No wonder there are none around anymore!!! Our professions are slowly becoming fewer and farther between. I mean it already takes too much game time to find resources, check on harvesters, workin' the factories, crafting the items, getting with people, stocking bazaar and vendor. Gosh!! I put as much of this in-game work craft-time into game as I do my RL job...lol...

This just keeps weighing me down. I've been playing since beta 3 and have always wanted to keep going because I wouldn't let things get to me. But god####**, little by little this just starts to eat away and wear me down *sigh*

So is this Merchant Re-vamp and stock limiting the 'Big Suprise' you've been promising us tailors for months now?

I think that the wookiee pillows were the "big surprise" that was in store for us. Ironically, it's something that neither tailors nor armorsmiths really wanted. As it is, tailors generally don't like being component slaves. At the same time, armorsmiths don't want to have to explain to a tailor the exact way they want their components to be experimented on. It just ends up being a hassle for everyone.

I don't know what the big surprise was - but it was referenced with the "color for wookiee garb and boots", so I highly doubt it's the non-colorable wookiee pillow. What I was afraid it might be is the (non-craftable) wookiee life day robe, which, although bright, is not a "big surprise" that tailors would care about.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this but here is my take on the vendor nerf:

We have ALOT of schematics times x many colors but if we are limited to what we can place on our vendor, what are we going to stock them with? The most popular selling items obviously which results in everyone running around in the same black duster. People will vary more if the see other options available to them. Most players want something different but don't know what's available until they can page through all the items. Not to mention it sucks running from vendor to vendor looking for one item. I can only imagine how much worse that is going to be. I agree with raising the cap to at least 1000 itemsand notmaking itper vendor but ratherspread acrosstotals.

Reasons Why ?

I know this was talked about the in the past with the limits to vendor items. I was lead to believe it was due to the lag found on some of the more popular servers. However in recent months the lag has not been so much of an issue things have settled down people are more spread out and lets be honest the server population's are lower.

Due to this I did not believe we needed limits any more, if this is just a vendor skill then why do we need it, if Sony see it as a technical issue can we have a reason as to why we need the limits. Perhaps we can come up with a new system.

I blame Bloodfin. They had a server-wide war last week that shut down several servers. The real casualties were probably thousands of dollars worth of Bloodfin's best processors. You could almost smell the burning chips from Massachusetts. I doubt they'll ever be able to do a GCW revamp or allow large-scale battles if those issues aren't fixed.

Which isn't to say I like the vendor change because I hate it. And I don't see how making people have more vendors will solve the lag issues. /shrug. But I'm willing to play with it and see how it goes.

One good thing it has done for me is make me less lazy about my stock. Instead of happily crafting every possible color combo known to man I have to now develop my own "style" or "line" of clotheing if you will, and stick to that. But I will miss my wacky color combos.
