Remember that the report button is your friend. Don't be afraid to use it. The mods will do some good old-fashioned pwnage, should they determine the post in question to be out of line.

The AFKers take that as a clue to attack you, those who support the AFKers take the same clue, those who don't like people butting their noses into other peoples buisness attack you, people who concider ribbos to be symbols for the symbol minded attack you.
I admire your guts believe me, it takes courage to open yourself up to that.
However.
Wearing a little purple ribbon does no more to support ATK entertainers than wearin a yellow ribbon supported Desert Storm.
You want to show everyone how much you support the ATK entertainers, that's good, but if you think about it, the only one you're supporting is yourself by makinga big show of how much you support them.
Alot like shouting out in court that you like the judge.
The best support of live entertainers would come from a boycott of AFK services.

Question though.
Howdoes wearing a little purple ribbon support anyone?
The ribbon does not support anyone, it is a public way of encouraging others to show their support as well.
If people ask hey what's that for anyways? You get to tell them, and inform yet another person about showing support for ATK play.
Thinking that the ribbon is support is not how I look at it, I see it more like a well, the jedi robe.
You can look at that person and know they perfer live folks to some macro fool, which inturn may discourage some of the new folks from becoming a tool instead of a Performer.
Honestly the ribbons thing has confused me since desert storm. It all seems to me like a bunch of shouting for attention, but I'm sure I missed the point somewhere.
Please by all means do not compare the game situation of trying to get people to watch Live performers and for ATK players to speak up and be seenwith such a thing as Desert storm, the two are nothing alike.
Ribbons have been used far longer then desert storm as well, it comes from the 'tie a string around your finger to remember'
Just because so many lost the reason behind why the ribbons are worn does not change the fact many will still recognize what it symbolizes.
And screaming for attention, YES, the ATK Dancers, Musicians, And Entertainers SHOULD be screaming for attention.
They should be drowning out the noise from the aflgrinders and buffbots with their voices.
Keep in mind, I applaud the sentiment, I'm just confused.
and I dont think it is a sentiment, it is something that should have been done from start and just needed a reboot to its drive system.
Far to long have people accepted the 'grind' and 'macroing xp' and AFK play as the SWG way of life.
Can you explain it since you are starting the purple ribbon movement?
The point is to get Live ents to speak up, not just sit in the shadows.
Announce that they are there to,asking for them to sign up where they usually are for performances so people can go see them.
Support is far more then just tipping, 1 person can tip a great sum, but I beleive if it's your profession you want an audiance as well as a paycheck, don't you?
I am a Tailor, I do not even have novice Ent skills, but I have had a long record of watching performers as i do die, alot.
I hated to see afk above their heads, and would usually give out whatI could to those who said "Hi Ani' when I spoke a "Hello all"in spatial.
Creds, ent bots, clothes vouchers, /cheer/clap etc.

Letting them know where Live Performers can be found is one step in that.
the afkbot spotsmay not seem as appealing if they don't have the banter of the Live ones around them.

And that is where you have got to keep going,
I know its cuddy to have to stand up like you are defending a lost cause against the mass
ButIf they are screaming that loud against you
then take more time, speak softer, smile, and rub it in their faces you can and will do it with grace.
I am still trying to find all the server forums with this,
but not many appear to me,
cross server and professional supporting goes a long way.
And damgit keep useing report,
we screw ourselves into thinking its 'tattletaling' oh how we messed up our children with this word.
Honesty trust and respect, if we share it it can be learned.
