Wait a minute....I was under the impression that you could continue wearing clothes that have a condition of zero.

I have no idea why someone would come to the tailor board and expect to drum up support for removing decay. And writing a title like "plz read" makes the author sound drunk and lacking in credability, but I do have to disagree with tailors who claim that decay was something we never wanted. To me that is a cop-out. It certainly *is* something we wanted, regardless of any one person's view here. There was a huge furor on this forum when they removed experimentation. In fact our tailor correspondent got so angry that she quit over this issue, any many including myself stopped making clothes for a short time in protest. It was also #1 on our top 10 list as I recall back when we had such a list. Now, much like the coloring issue, there was little consensus here as to how decay should work, and it's easy for a tailor to say "well, they didn't implement it MY way, so I take no responsibility", but that doesn't change the fact that it was something we asked for.
Yes. Most of us screamed for decay when they took away experiementation. It had been promised to us and then it looked like it would never happen. If I remember correctly, after just a day or two of screaming one of the devs proposed the current death based scheme to us and it was almost universally hated by most of us because it didn't affect entertainers (who at least at that time were our biggest customers instead of the BE clothing crowd). So yes, we wanted decay but no, we did not want the what they gave us. The strange thing is that they said they wanted this scheme to help the architects too, but in the end it did not affect them at all.

For myself, I stopped buying Tailored clothing when the decay system went live. I'd rather buy junk of the bazaar and let it decay than pay 15K credits to keep a pair of pants up and running.

Well, if they switched it to use-based decay I think the non-tailor community if anything would be *more* unhappy about it. All that would mean is that now all the folks that don't get db'ed on a regular basis would have the same decay as those who did. Either way, non-tailors are not going to like it.
100cr for clothing??? what an outrage, I want it for 50, lol
No, you're absolutely right, and this was my point. When tailors tell combat folks, "who us? WE didn't want decay like this, WE wanted a different form of decay, it was the EVIL DEVSwho did it" that argument means nothing to them, because to them, decay is decay is decay. Either way its an added expense, either way it may mean if they fix it they may have to go to a tailor and re-buy clothing again.
But of course they are simply failing to see the big picture, and that is without perks for tailors, and a system that is good to tailors, and encourages tailors, nobody will want to be a tailor, and so no clothing for them, at any price, decay or no. All it would take would be, say a 50% reduction in the number of tailors on their server and suddeny they'd see the light.

Quite frankly people would be the most happy with no decay and NPC tailors who they can go to, design their own clothes and buy anything they want for 100 to 1000 credits each. But hopefully they will never get that. Almost everyone wants the best stuff for themselves with no pain or inconvenience and for it to be harder on everyone else. It is just human nature.

And what ever happened to the "Nude wars", where people said they would never purchase another tailors items ever again because we got the decay that we demanded (actually, ignoring the fact that a majority if not all, of the tailors did not want death decay).
There were quite a few naked people on Radiant for about a week and a half. Then everyone else started pointing out that they looked like noobs who were either going naked because they were stupid, or too poor to be able to afford clothes.
Hello,
return of the starter of this topic ![]()
First I didn't edited my post at all an I think it would be interesting to have your input as the devs where telling the decay system was there because you needed some love.
I saw a lot of frustation here, remembers me the DE forum... ![]()
With what I read, I think you all want a decay system, maybe a decay per usage?
