Thread: Galaxy Wide Vendor search on TC

I went to take a look on TC earlier and to be honest I can see good and bad sides to it. I don't think many casual shoppers will be happy to wade through page after page after page of item listings! The clothing catagories are not too bad but the general items and factory crates sections are still insane. With there being no way to sort by price I can see the vendor listing section only being used for the odd item you really want but cannot find, and customers will still end up going to their favourite crafter for the usual things they need and want.

I think that the main problem with the way they are showing prices is the forward and back buttons on the details box. I know that when I shop on the bazaar I sort by name (ignoring items with strange custom names), go to the beginning of the part of the list that has what I am looking for, bring up the details box and hit the forward button until I have looked through them all. This makes price shopping pretty easy! If I see what I am looking for at significantly below market price I buy it! You can go through a few hundred items very quickly that way.

True, but considering the vast number of entries you would need to look through I can see a lot of people not bothering after the first few times

I think that will be true in some cases and not true in other cases. If I am shopping for brandy then it is too much work! If I am shopping for hats on the other hand I think that will be easy.
Hmmph! What difference does that make? So the person has to open another window to see prices? Big deal. They changed nothing from the original proposal. With all the negative feedback they got the first time, you'd think they would do something about it. Now they seem to think that if they hurry and get it live, it will be too late to change anything. I am exceedingly disappointed by this decision.

Well the details is that it is basically the original proposal except that 1) you have to go pick up the item and 2) you have to click on the item to see how much it costs. This entire thing has been a suprise to me!
