Thread: Does anyone else do this? And is it a bad idea?

On my original armorsmith, I have had certain crates in the output hopper for 6 months now, without poofing I use the input for storage of crates, leathers, and claspsas well, until needed, and keep the factories pumping.

I have been doing this forever now, and with 3 factories, it comes in handy. The closest I have ever come to a nervous breakdown was when I logged into Tattooine, and read my mail from the day before stating that a factory was at 30%. I got to coronet as fast as i could, didn't even answer tells until I got there and put money into it. I think I had 5 minutes left. THAT was close.

I haven't really used the input for storage until I moved my shop. Now I have a factory with about 15 melons and a 100% fishing pole in the input hopper.

I do this, and the only time it becomes a problem is when my output hopper gets almost full and does the "internal manufcturing error" thing. I've never had anything disappear.

Well, factories are just really practical for storage. 1 lot for 100 items, plus what you have in the output hopper... shh! don't tell anybody!

Careful- after 2 weeks (or is it 30 days?) in the stockroom, your items with vanish without warning.

I keep components aplenty on my factory, but learned the hard way about keeping valuable resources in them...the factory poofed, as did millions in resources.

I always leave the crates I haven't used yet in the factory...seems like i can keep track of them better if they are all in the same place Plus my show house is full of displays, and my alt houses are full of resources and components, I don't see any reason why we shouldn't use the storage space in the factories, since it is there for a reason after all ^_^

Oh! I do this all the time! Not only do I keep a healthy stock of crates in the output hoppers of my factories, I also have a med. house dedicated to overflow. Not to mention -Have droids, will travel! I have my maximum of 5 droids and each droid has the maximum storage module available.1 mouse droid for synthcloth, 1 mouse droid for trim, 1 mouse droid for rfp/fp, 1 mouse droid for jewelry settings/metal fasteners/cargo pockets and shoe soles. Then a mixture of all on my crafting R3 droid.

But seriously, if they ever nerfed that.... I think I would have to hang up my tailoring scissors, as it would make my life incredibly hard. As it is, like someone stated, you can't rely on keeping things in your vendors' stockrooms.
