In my experiance, I did not get heavy traffic in my shop until I was there about 6 months, takes a while to make a name for yourself. Also your prices are very important, take a trip to the other tailor shops around you and the ones in Theed and Cnet to get an idea of what you should charge. What I did the first few months and once in a while now is advertise here on the boards in the Galaxy Trade section and I also visited Theed and Cnet and forwarded an email to everyone I saw about my shop and prices etc. Especially Entertainers, they buy alot of clothes
Feel free to look at my shop for ideas on what I do, I have been there about 8 months now and pull in about 700k a week.

wow...I just checked that auction. Don't pay 2 mil for +15 assembly! That's outrageous! It's moreworth it to throw away a couple of 2 socket items than to buy that! I have a couple of +1's that I've collected that I'll give you for free.

oh eek!!! can i retract a bid?!??!? lol

Go ahead...it's a forum, not ebay. It's not like tailors are armorsmiths or weaponsmiths here. You have to weigh the benfit with the cost. The assembly will give you a higher chance of hitting 4 sockets, however, from what I've seen on Sunrunner most people don't care about sockets and you'll get the occasional 4 socket order if they do. If that's worth 2 mil to you, then go for it. I would say it's not, because if your vendors aren't doing much business it may take you awhile to make 2 mil from clothing. Odds are he won't sell that CA, so you can send him a pm and give a much lower offer when he doesn't.

I dunno. +15 is a heck of a lot in one CA. With an apron you're only 5 away from maxing it out. If/when the day comes that experimentation matters, you'll be happy to have one outfit that handles experimentation and assembly.

(Besides, it's not like the 15M minimum you'd be paying for an AS/WS one. Depending on your server.)

Well it's assembly and not experimentation. From friends and shopping around, I've put together a +20 actually maybe it is +25 assembly suit for minimal cost. I think assembly and experimentation are luxuries for a tailor not a necessity. Most people don't care about sockets and if they do you're still capable of making them without assembly. I'm pretty sure my suit is also +20 experimentation and I have yet to make a wookiee pillow. I don't think they're going to make experimentation "matter" any more than it already does. It would be a major pain to experiment on every item.

I miss experimenting on clothes!

Way back when....they were crafted with 100 condition, and experimenting got them to 1000 cond.

Of course this was days of decay and corpse runs, and working through your profs not afk macroing it...

I think it really depends on the market you are in. Right now I have two vendors. One is for fashion clothes and for those variety is what matters and sockets do not matter at all. People go there to look good and that is all that matters! This is my favorite vendor. The other vendor is for BE clothing. For that vendor I *must* have at least 3 sockets and preferably 4. Variety and color does not matter. If I put 10 black +4 Melee/+18 stun defense shirts with 4 sockets on my vendor they will sell! Clothes that have had 2 or less sockets that I have put there stay on the vendor forever.

Well I guess the question is would you pay 2 million for +15 assembly?

*I* personally wouldn't because I already have +22 assembly and I only need to replace a few tapes with slightly better ones. If I didn't have it and I was going to specialize in enhanced clothes I would seriously think about it. A day or two ago I put up a 4 socket +25 wound/injury treatment wooly shirt on my vendor for 60K and it, along with several other expensive pieces of clothing sold within hours. 2 million credits can be made back fairly easily if that is the market you want to be in. There is a huge amount of money in that market, but its really boring. It wouldn't be worth it to me if I didn't have a master BE alt.

I personally would, If someone came into my shop and offered me it I rarely look on trade forums however so never really see things like this.

Do i think its worth 2 million? no, but its not like i have anything else to spend all my money on anyway atm
