Thread: Tailoring after todays patch..
Perhaps it was part of those client optimisations to improve performance. Hooray, I can render a blob much faster than a formal shirt!
Its not a shooter, I canhandle 10-15 frames as long as they look good.
Closing my inventory window brings the quality back up for me as well, still annoying as hell.
Of course this wouldnt be aproblem if all of your inventory items werent 3D models, what a waste of processing power, a nice 2D image would suffice.
MrSloth wrote:This bug just got ten times worse in my book. I looked in my vendor at some clothes, I was looking for a jacket. I double click on it to inspect it and the low res piece of crap graphics showed up. My form fitting shirt was a big blob. On top of it it only showed the sleeve colors and not the main color of the shirt which was white.
This is one hell of an annoying bug.
Same here. I've now had to exchange several items, and also lost sales because people have been fooled by the wrong colors and horrible quality of the images in the vendor/bazaar preview. Unfortunately the developers seem to have no interest in fixing the issues that have plagued this profession since beta, so I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing a fix for this issue either. I realize that this is an issue with all crafters, and not just tailors, but its specifically important to tailors because the entire profession revolves around how things look.
Found that I had consistent low quality images when trying to craft in my house, which has many items in it, including a lot of clothing on display. Also, faces of other characters lost all depth and detail when they were a few steps away. When I got closer the face returned to its normal detail.
I stepped outside and opened my craft tool and had my detailed images back. Opened inventory window and lost some detail, but not to the blobs I was getting in my house. Seems the number of items being rendered at one time is affecting this.
Yes, optimization is nice and I want a decent frame rate... but I can't craft like this.

Man, I thought it was just me... The items look like the first days of 3d animation with 8-bit colors. I thought I was playin swg on a NES. Please HOLO See this thread and let us know when it's going to be fixed. There's nothing as difficult as trying to make a outfit for someone and the textures don't give you a idea of what it looks like.
I've also had the color palette lock up. No matter what colors I hit the color still came out the default color. Last but not least. It blows me away that I can make han solo pants (aka thin stripe pants) in a blue with red stripe that I don't have access to.
Holo u were always fast to address stuff in BETA please address this. Tailors need some love too.

for me, this issue only occurs when i'm zoomed out of my character into third person mode.as i zoom in, the quality increases. if i return to first person mode, i have no problem at all. at least with the clothing preview stuff which is my primary concern.

It is -definitely- related to how much else is being displayed on screen. Last night I had craft tool open and low detail in preview window. Walked a few steps to where there were no other players or NPCs on screen - high detail was back. Turned a bit so that an NPC was on screen and lost some detail again.
My house is full of stuff and when I try to craft there I can hardly tell what I am making or see where the colors are going.

I need my inventory open while I craft..I have 3 stations I'm jumping between, as most of you do too I'm sure. I agree..too bad you can't turn off item rotation in inventory...what a waste of memory and lag.
The blobs are a killer if you are actually working creatively and designing outfits for people. When I make something I hvae to 'drop' it in my house and look at it that way to make usre the detail color worked the way I hoped it did.
Not to mention, once they are hotkeyed, you can run them straight out of your backpack! All my stations and survey devices are in there, and hotkeyed on my survey/craft toolbar.
Just be careful not to fill your inventory, getting items stuck in hoppers takes a little extra step.
try hotkeying the craft stations -- then you won't need your inventory window open ![]()
the hotkey image even displays the tiny timer window...
and it makes it much easier to craft while running away from scary monsters ![]()
