I'm not a Tailor but I just want to say that Tailors are my favorite people to deal with, and I believe that you all are an extremely integral part of SWG. Otherwise we would all be running around in our newbie clothes.Just my two credits

Ok here's a good one for you.

A girl (whom I won't mention the name of) stops me and asks me if I could make her a pair of hot pants to go with her top. I said sure what colour is it?

girl: blue

me: there are lot's of different shades of blue what does it look like?

girl: well it's bright blue

me: that doesn't really help much. I have about 15 different shades of blue to pick from.

girl: well it's kinda like the one you have one now.

me: ok i'll make it in that colour and you can see if it's the same (me assuming that she must not have the item she wanted this to match on her)

girl: no that's not it. can you try a little darker?

me: ya ok.

girl: that's not it either......can't you get it right?

me: well it would help if you I could see the top so I can match the colour.....whether you trade it to me for a min or just put it on so i can examine it while i craft the pants.

girl: well i do have it with me but i'm not putting it on and i am not trading it to you......you might not give it back.

(ya right i can make the stuff in a minute but i would steal it from her)

me: well i'm afraid i can't help you then, i don't have enough materials with me to make them in all the different blues.

girl: ............ (a few swears here and there)

me: could you trade me back the two i made that you don't want?

girl: why should i?

me: because they cost me money to make and you don't want them so i will sell them

girl: i'm not giving them back...........and i'm not paying you for them either since you couldnt' make what i asked in the colour i wanted.

me: fine....have it your way....just know now that you aren't welcome in my shop.

(this is when she decided to challenge me to a duel and was dropped in about 10 seconds.)

wow... if it was me, all the tailors in kaadara would have her on ban list, and the whole server would hear about it. she would probably be treated rather harshly by my friends if they're online, and might get all her stats poisoned if Cryss was around.

ya, i'm rather nasty at times, some people just aren't bright enough to understand that they're not the center of the universe. at least it's not as cruel as tar and feather, or chopping her arm off

Oh, sort of reminds me of an incident a while ago.

I went back to Nashal, Dearic where I started playing, as I do once ina while to see what's happening there. I was just standing around the market area and this female human shows up and proceeds to run up to every NPC and ask them if they can make her some new clothes. This included the marksman trainer, entertainer trainer, the lot. She finally just stand there and I run up and say "Would you like me to make you some new clothes?" (I like to give free stuff to new people) She just stands there looking at me for a few minutes then runs off.

Yea. I had that happen a few days ago. I was getting some surveying missions because I really need to get money for a few medium chemical harvesters and a medium house when a new character came into town and was begging to be taught the languages. Its just in my personality to be helpful, so I dropped what I was doing and taught him all the of the languages in the game (that I know of at least). Then he said, "While you are at it, can you make me a blue robe for free? Heehee". I explained that I really couldn't do that because it cost me money to make them, and also that some of the other tailors would be furious if they found out that I was giving away non-decaying clothes for free. He then said I was "uncool" and ran off. Some people are just jerks.

If someone asks for free clothes, don't give them to them!! As far as I am concerned, it is OK to give a nice discount to someone who obviously can't afford anything nice. It is even OK to give away a free cheap item with a purchase, but if tailors give in to all the players who want free clothes, they will go on expecting that tailors are just around to give away stuff.

Oh... and I hope that the jerk was eaten by a diseased nuna or something.

after reading this thread i have to say its one of the funnist ive read even if it wasnt ment to be that way.As far as those people go they are the ones that buy the game play it and get bored because its not the kind of game made for them i mean this is a roleplaying game and if u dont like spending money on stuff dont play these kind of games....these people come and go dont let them piss you off because we need the good people to stay with us and be happyhappyhappy....also YES IM HIGH! (this is a very stupid reply but i lost my train of thought as i so often do . the point is dont let the idiots get u down )

Something that happened to me a few days ago. I was in Coronet (I'm usually in Bestine) to get some stuff from bazaar and while I was at it I decided to just put some stufffor salethere.

Guy : hi, how much do you charge for black dusters?

Me : Well I can make 2 kinds, it's 2000 for spec ops duster and 2500 for gunman duster

Guy : Lol hey you're talking to a noob I am new to clothes

Me : Well I just put one of each forsale in bazaar if you want to have a look

Guy : yes but it's too expensive I only have 500 cr, could you make one for me at 500 cr? See I play a wookie on another server and I would like to have good clothes here

Me : sorry I am out of components now (which was actually true)

Guy : and you want me to believe you can't spare to sell a duster at 500 cr? I know how it is for you tailors, you can very well afford it

Then he is shouting in the bank area :WHERE ARE THE KIND PEOPLE (yeah in caps)

I am stupid so I tried to explain to him that he could get 2k in 30 minutes doing missions, and he told me again that it was rude, that I could afford selling one at 500 cr etc. I just gave up replying and took the shuttle back home. Sigh.
