Kylnia: I hadn't thought of that... I think I will do that from now on...

I've been asked if I can craft a wedding ring for someone. Having tried everything I can think of, I still can't get the unity option onto a ring. Am I missing a command or something else?
Thanks!

To get the "Unity" option on the radial menu of a ring: Each person needs to have a ring (crafted or looted.) Target the one you wish to propose Unity to. Click on Propose Unity on the radial. The male character will go to one knee. If the female accepts the proposal, the rings are exchanged (swapped in inventories - so be sure you give the girl the ring the man wants to end up with and vice versa before you do the Unity) Once Untiy is completed, both characters will now have "Married" and the name of the person they are married to in their character screen information. It does not appear if someonedoes /exmine on you though.
As far as I know, unity can be male/male, female/female as well.
You can also get Divorced. If you wish to end the Unity, click on the ring in your inventory. The radial menu will have a Divorce option. Click it. A message will appear saying you have ended Unity with so and so. You will still have your ring. The info in your char screen will change to show you are unmarried.
Unity rings are auto-insured too. They will not decay upon death.
And I think you cannotunequip the ring unless you divorce? Not sure on that one.

All rings have the unity option. Here's how it works:
Step 1. Equip ring
Step 2. Target person you wish to marry. (Person that you wish to marry must also havearing equipped)
Step 4. Go into your inventory and click on the ring
Step 5. Select propose unity option
Now I'm pretty sure when they accept your proposal, the 2 rings get switched. I'm not 100% on that cause my hubby and Iused Akuan (spelling?) rings and we both had the same thing.

Ack you beat me!
I can answer the last 2 questions though. My ring decayed, but I can't unequip it. I sent a ticket about the decay of my ring, and the CSRs said it was working as intended. (big surpise)

Rings are not supposed to decay if you use them for marriage. If they are in fact decaying after they put the "fix" in, please let me know.

When was the "fix"? I got married sometime in April and my ring is at 0.

My unity ring is at 100% and I've died often. It never decays. So long as the other person does not divorce you, it should be fine.
You don't have to equip the ring for unity proposals. The other person does have to have one in his inventory (anywhere in inventory) and you swap rings. The very best rings to use for unity are the akuaan rings that are +5 ranged defense. They will never decay and have a benefit beyond cherished love.

No, actually the hero of tat ring is a bad choice...
The Hero(ine) of Tatooine ring allows you to instantly rez and avoid cloning and associated penalties with cloning. It's like having a doc in your backpack, ready to jump out and bring you back from the dead anytime you want.
The unity status on a ring prevents decay from cloning, and would only be of use if you could NOT rez. Well the ring is limited to a set number of charges, and after that you can't use it anymore. The akuaan ring is forever, until it decays to 0/0 status (and they let that actually mean something)
I wouldn't use the HoT ring for unity because as long as it has value, you will never have decay. Once it is used up, everything ELSE will decay, but you're HoT ring is now useless.

My akuaan ring decayed, even though I was married...I don't know why, and I even wrote a ticket about it. I guess the system is still buggy. I don't feel like getting a new ring and divorcing to fix it. We'll see what happens when they fix 0/0 decay.
