Thread: Art Team: What Tailors Want (v 2)
Any word yet whether we'll be getting these schematics or whether there will be an elite-elite tailoring profession? I would love to get more clothing choices, but becoming an elite-elite tailor would basically limit a person to only being a tailor with some artisan and merchant skills.
This goes hand in hand with the Merchant tree, but most Tailors have some merchant skills anyway...
But I'd love to see Mannequins.
I understand we can dress the Vendors and we can drop clothing in houses as an "outfit" But it would be cool to be able to "pose a mannequin"
Ideas for Poses could go with the moods already in game or the actions already in game
Casual standing, arms crossed, sitting, weight on one leg (impatient)...etc
And these mannequins should be able to wear the clothes and not have it count against our house count.
I'd also love to see some hairpieces for the game. Tailors can craft them, and Image Designers use them to create more elaborate hairstyles. Bejeweled or embroidered bands across the forehead, ribbons entertwined in the hair, leather bands for sleek ponytails, fur accessories for Wookies (no I am not a Wookie, just annoyed that certain races have limited wardrobes)
I hate most of the clothing that is available now. It doesn't look like something from space, but something you could buy at the store. The patterns are not unique. Cowboy hats? Are you kidding?
I like items like the designer vest or other items you would not see people walking down the street wearing. Jeans and a teeshirt, although comfortable to wear, just do not give a star wars feel...
I do want more schematics, but ones that give a space age from a different galaxy look to them.
dont ask me what the hell im doing in this part of the forum, but anyways-
eh.. becareful when you're saying you want more dyes like glittery ones or whatever you said.
if you've ever played Ultima Online, they later added like Neon clothing and special colors and i feel it really tore a piece of out of the feel of that sort of era.
now yes, i agree that there should be MORE colors, but not so many that everyone who's walking around looks like a living rainbow.

First off...Kwee what a HUGE lot of work that was. Thank you.
The ideas look great, the list...if we get even a third of that I'd be happy. I do want to suggest veils for all races...if its on the list already not a problem. The reason for veils...most all societies, at one point or another, have used veils during dance and battle. I do think that I recall seeing veils used in SWG movies as well. Some veils are simple, merely placed behind a helmet to keep dust and wind from harming the face others are intricate such as a bride's veil.
In doing clothng for a wedding this last week I realized how difficult it really is to make a bride look unique. Twilek brides all wear a grand headpiece or a Ys'Rak. Most brides wear either a grand ballgown in white or some variation. Some brides wear the fashionably pleated skirt and a revealing top/light bustier. I tried several different dresses for this particular bride and we ended up with a grand ballgown. There just isn't enough choice. Also the grand ballgown is now being used as common wear in a cantina for dancers. I guess the point of this is that we need some formal wear for both males and females that can be somehow made unqiue to the individual...I know that's just nearly impossible but ideas such as changing clasp, fabric finish, beading might work.
Just tossed it out to you...and thank you again for your work.

You've insulted one of my threads already and now attacking Kwee's?If you have nothing nice to say, or even consctructive, please don't post.
Kwee
Just a thought - but are they also looking for nominations for schematics we would rather delete the char than ever make? to make some room for these new ones?
I will personally NEVER craft the following as they are plain ugly:
decorative dress. ( so high in thre tree and so plain)
metal necklace (looks like a bicycle tyre round my neck)
Longsleeve gown ( okay if you want to look like a nun)
at least half of the belt schematics ( can you really tell the difference between them once worn?)
I also would never chose to make the (in the majority) hideous artisan stuff one i can make better, so maybe some of the tailor stuff can be moved down (when the new stuff added)and the really nasty stuff removed:
plain short robe (this looks universally vile on everyone i have seen wearing it- and its ditched as soon as they find something better)
plain robe
maidens dress ( horrid texture to the colours - so its never as nice as it could be)
wrinkled pants ( good idea - but tackily done)
