Thread: For the record, are you suffering? Is decay bad for your health? Fact or Fiction?

Sales did drop for a good long while (at the height of which I wrote my disgruntled tailor Gamer Girl column)and have picked up recently. However I think many of our recent sales are coming from new characters.
Yea, when "mounts" were introduced nobody was buying clothing. We'll probably see something similar (next week?) when speeders are introduced and the new BE creatures are also introduced. Everyone will be speeding around with a tiny purple rancor in tow, lol.
Funny though, because in my area, on my server, I see almost no noobs. Is starsider one of those newer servers? Perhaps that is the difference. Bria is one of the old ones, and almost everyone I see these days is an "ancient" player like me. And when there is a noob it's more often than not somebody's 2nd character.
Actually my businessis still very slow. We have more people running around naked on our server or leaving there clothes in the bank or their houses. I use to need to restock weekly, now two or three weeks go by and half my inventory is still there, and that's with the bugs. My prices are the cheapest around, there are far less Tailors on the server then there once was as well. Is decay fixing the problem. No.

My sales are about the same, but I moved my shop from Naboo out to the middle of Rori just as decay went in. So I'm pretty amazed that my sales took a hit for about a week after the move and then returned to normal levels.
I think it's funny that back when all we wanted was normal use-decay we could get no sympathy from most non-crafters. But now that the only clothing decay targets combatants, they're all about slower use-based decay... ![]()
Sorry to hear This Anneke. Any other tailors on Naritus having the same problem?

Well, I've been selling Domestic 4 stuff on my vendor (I am about to pick up tailoring, specificly the Casual line) and it sells fast. I place about 20 shirts and back packs and such on my vendor and there is rarely anything on it by the end of the week. (Sadly, I wish my armor sales were better, starting to regret dropping novice tialor for armor smith
).
So, at least for me, business has improved over the past month or so.
My sales have increased steadily. I have noticed a lot less /tells, but an increase in special orders, mostly for enhanced stuff. I did a few things in the past few weeks to see how they would work, so i'm not entirely sure if the increase is due to them or not. Even when the panic wave went through the boards about decay I didn't think it would affect that much in the end. Clothing has always been a luxury item in this game, and can be the first thing cut when money is tight for a player. However, style trends spread like wildfire as we all know from the countless 'cookie cutter' outfits we've churned out depending on the new 'make me look cool' template hehe. Peer pressure wins out in the end and people want to look nice/cool/sexy and over all noticable. I'd like to add here that hotpants are not the way to go for any of the above *shudders*
Business is aboiut normal for me. Has gone in waves the last few months, I will have reasonable sales and orders for a couple weeks, and then it plummets. I have always based it on the fact that my shop is not near a city, player or NPC; and my prices are high, based on Nivea's old website with some downward modifications. I am also a more casual player, and my computer is slow; meaning I only play about 10 hours a week and I don't leave home often *chuckle*
I agree that the mounts did cause a temporary down-turn in sales, as people spent their money elsewhere for a little while. And I agree we will probably see the same whenvehicles enter the game. On the other hand, we might see more sales of outfits that will look good with the vehicles.

Oooh, good idea, hadn't thought of that! Time to stock up on flight suits, pilots jackets, and swoop helms
