In terms of the "secret vendor" thing - you can hide inside your crafting station, so, drop a crafting station on top of the secret vendor. Problem solved.
I use a high quality camp kit. But that's just me ![]()
The only problem with it is that people can easily walk into it and see if there's anything in side, but most don't (its in the basement).
He got in trouble with a CSR for it. The vendor he was selling them on was titled "Krayt Pearls and Special Orders". He couldn't understand why he was reprimanded for selling these decoy things for 300k+ creds since (to him) it was a Special Order vendor, even tho the vendor was called Krayt Pearls AND Special Orders.
Oh well. No real point to my post just wanted to mention it.
I ran into this and other churlish behavior so often that I stopped the practice of using vendors to deliver special orders. Special orders, for me, are:
- Special orders arerequested and determined via e-mail. I don't take special orders via /tells, and I provide a price quote to which the customer has to agree before I start the order. (I've broken this rule on special occasions, typically for guild members.)
- Prices are not negotiable. My prices are low enough to cause me some concern that I'm undercutting other tailors (I'm tailor/BE, so I don't have the "tissue overhead" non-BE tailors have for such items), so haggling is usually unnecessary.
- Special orders are delivered in person (either I go to meet the customer or the customer comes to meet me.)
- Payment occurs before or during the trade. (Again, I've broken this rule on special occasions, for returning or "known" customers.)
I've lost business, butsaved peace of mind and a lot ofplayingtime, as a result. I also keep a huge stock of items on my vendor, so special orders are not required as often.
Not controversial at all. I only have banned one person from my store due to this.

Now this may be a bit controvercial (sp?) but.. I will and have banned customers from my shop for purchasing items on that vendor that is not in their name. I can't make it any clearer than to have a seperate vendor with the customer's names in the description. I use to put their names in the "name" of the item, but got feedback that they prefered not to have that. (lower resale value I suppose, lol.)
