I dont understand any of this at all.
I've only mastered tailor, artisan and ID and i have no connection to the force when i /che
How do i even begin to go about getting these crafting mastery trees? The whole process just confuses me the more i read it.
Anyone kind enough to explain it a simple way that is easy for dumb me to understand it?

In case anyone is interested. For Master Tailors a Tactical Skinsuit is 300 polymer, 60 metal and yields 945xp vs the 399 for the cartridge belt.
Thats good to know... I have a ton of metal which I will never use up, and I can probably buy lots of cheap polymer. Thanks for the info and alot less clicking. How much more xp do you get in the practice mode on those?

Your Force Sensitivity is now based on your badges... The most important ones to get are Theme Parks, Corellian Corvette (you can get glowy without doing the Corellian Corvette)... You also need to hit alot of the POIs for badges... On one of my characters, I got glowy with just Nym Theme Park, Jabba Theme Park, Rebel Theme Park, 4 Mastered Profession badgesand about 30 or so POI badges
With the skills you listed, you'll probably want to get a friend to help you with the Theme Parks... 99% of the POI badges can be gotten without fighting....
Hope this helps, and good luck =)

Ok, I admit I am just a lurker here, and not one of the regular posters, but I just had to make a comment on this one...
This is one of the most incredibly bogus things the devs have done to us in a long time.
First off, if you are dedicated enough to try to play a pure crafter in SWG it is tough enough to even get to "glowy". Having just finished up my quests and content badges, I know I could not have made it without my additional skills of Master CH and Novice Pike, and even with a couple of good friends to help out occaisonally. Trying it without combat skills is not realistic. That is the first BS portion of the FS path, imagining it would be open to everyone.
After all that work, I did the Phase 1 quest to get permission to do Crafting - Assembly. Ok, a lot of moronic running around for exotic components, but doable.
Now comes the part where they really slap you upside the head.
I have been a tailor for a long time. I love making custom outfits, working with customers, and selling stuff on the vendor or bazaar. As a result, I had a high amount of general crafting experience and a maxed leftover experience (120k) for tailor. After converting this experience to FS crafting experience, I still have LESS THAN HALF of the experience required to even become a Novice (50k). So, the equivalent of a lifetime of experience as a tailor obviously means diddly when it comes to the Force. (This is in stark contrast to the leftover combat experience I had, which easily qualified me for Novice Combat Prowess).
Ok, ok, so not to be a whiner, I started the trudge to get enough experience to make FS Crafting Novice. I admit I did some grinding to make Master Tailor in the good old days, to get the cool fashions and colours. But I wanted to see at first if it would be possible to make the massive experience for FS in a more legitimate manner first. So, I totally upgraded my stock in my vendor. I spent an entire weekend crafting at least one of every item in our schematic database to either put in my showroom or on my vendor, sometimes multiple copies to show off nice style/colour combinations. The result - a great vendor selection, and maybe 10-15k of crafting experience. And this is Tailor Experience, when converted to FS Crafting, a pitiful 2-4k at best.
Ok, now having seen that legitimate crafting would take a solar year to get to the needed experience (for Novice), I broke down and started grinding. Good old Cartridge Belts! Fortunately, I have loads of materials lying around, and hey, that is what harvesters are for, right? So I sit and diligently begin to grind. And grind. And grind. After two days I have 60k Tailoring experience, only 40k short of what I will need to convert to make Novice. Yes, I said Novice.
The point of this is, that I can now see that the march up the Artisan branches of the Force is completely undoable. If I am struggling to make the relatively simple 50k for Novice (starting with a load of previous experience), it is completely irrational to expect any human being to make the 1.225 MILLION FS experience (yes over 6 Million Tailoring experience points) to get even one branch of the Force Crafting Tree. I am not talking, "oh poop, we cannot grind it in a week", I am talking "Oh, you have to be kidding, not in my lifetime!".
The obvious conclusion is this: Not only is it evident that the devs cannot do math (the simple calculations in the start of this excellent post should indicate this is irrational), but also that these folks have never played a crafter in their lives. I defy anyone to claim they actually completed a branch of FS crafting in development or playtesting by actually doing the work of Tailoring instead of shortcutting through the system or getting holocredit.
The bottom line is that the conversion process is completely out of whack for crafters. A 1 to 1 ratio would be legitimate, doing the work of 7-8 professions to get one branch is not. And to think, we need 6 branches to even unlock our second slot. Don't get me started on THAT! :-) Needless to say, if I bother, it will be in some combat related skill.
So, boys and girls, and sapients everywhere, the answer is this... Use your hologrind credits on the Crafting trees (just like the devs do) 'cause you sure are not gonna make it by playing in SWG any other way.

Don't get me wrong - I think that the conversion rate is ridiculous. I don't think there is a way for a player to advance without grinding. I'm looking into it. I was just pointing out that other professions who don't hand-craft at all would not be able to do it in casual play even in a million years, while it might take us 100 years or so.

I know I might sound stupid but I've played the game for about two Months and if I ever get to glowing I might go for some of the FS Skills.... Can anyone tell me if you need skillpoints for FS because I don't think I'd want to drop any skills for that.... I couldn't find a thing about it in the guides for FS that I read just how to get glowy and how to proceed...
They're 1 skill point each box.
