not for lack of looking beleive me.

I had to defend my choice of collecting the padded vests with the fact they were in movie, since noone beleived I wanted em for fashion, so I know stills and screenies that are in nooks and crannies and I still haven't found the Decorative vest.

And there are few who want to scream it is Anakin's Vest but it isn't, not by far, really...

I am going through Tailor right now, one thing I have noticed is there are so many interesting clothes, yet everybody seems to be wearing the same thing! Come on people!

WAY overdone:

"TKA Outfit" in solid black

It's gotten to the point that I charge more (25% more) for a solid black outfit. I am likely to give discounts to those who want something unusual in a non-standard (Master Red, Master Blue, Black, White) color.

Weird this black thing...

On Valcyn i could probably have just stocked black clothing and gotten away with it.

On Farstar im not sure if black is even my most popular colour, i stock all colours, and all sell well

In some items (such as boots) black is deffinatly the biggest seller.

But items like bustiers and skirts dont really sell in black too well,

BE items sell best in black, but i often get custom orders for BE items from the many who want different colours.

It seems a lot of pvp'ers on Eclipse wear pantaloons and muscle shirts with their comp cheater sets. They must all have medic....

I refuse to make all black clothing. I'll make black with some sort of colored highlights (like a Desert Command jacket black with Ice blue scarf with matching black striped pants with ice blue stripe) but never all black and anyone who comes to me knows Im a fashion Nazi. Most of my clothing sales are done person to person, I advise on color choices, schemes and BE clothing. But I really really try to inject some fun into the wardrobes.

However on my server....ugh everyone and thier mommy wears:

Duster

Decorative Vest w/pants for TKA or w/modest skirt for wannabe sith

Extremely revealing skirt

Double robe Red with a comp helm.

I dont even mind the skirt except that some people wear the most ATROCIOUS tops with them. Like a Light Bustier /boggle. Or a sport bustier in two colors. I saw one with a sports wrap and I thought I was going to hurl.

Yeah, I get this a lot. I tend to make a point of walking into cantinas and so on with a icvely impressive outfit... something like Grand Twi'lek Headpiece, Tactical Skinsuit, Decorative Vest in black and a really bright trim colour. So, I'm pretty used to "Wow, that looks GREAT! Can you make be a black (extremely revealing skirt and metal bra / neo-from-the-matrix / something all the people around me are wearing) outfit?"

Three days ago, a dancer even sent me a /tell asking me to design her an outfit. She said she wanted something 'really unusual and sexy'. So, I suggested something a bit more leather/industrial (I forget what, but it involved an open jacket with no shirt for that full tease effect) and got "Ewww.. I was thinking more like an extremely revealing skirt thing."

Whatchagonnado?

Edited cos WOOHOO! My 100th post!

I am on valcyn and black is a top seller. I have made more enhanced formfitting undershirts than anything else. Usually when I am trying to get 4 sockets I get tired of making plain old black and I make some crazy combos. Yes, even those sell eventually lol. Come on, it is pink AND purple haha.

there are a few clothing items that seems to be really popular:

dusters (usually black)
extremely revealing skirt (walk into a cantina, probably half the girls, especialy the afk ones, will be wearing it)
sunguard (although I don't blame them as much, it's the best headwear for most species)

pretty much anything all black is overdone... it just drives me nuts! normal people don't wear all black irl, does it hurt to wear *some* colors?

*blush* ummm... before i had kids (ie: when i had a life) the nightclubs i went to most everyone (including me) wore all black. All black can be hawt. but yeah ingame it can get old.

I'd say my biggest selling item would be this:

Black Formfitting Undershirt
+4 Melee Defense
+18 Defense vs. Stun

I've been slowly establishing myself as the leading Bio-Engineering Tailor on my server. When I started as a Tailor, I had no desire to make BE clothing. But I receive so many orders requesting BE'ed stuff, that I figured instead of avoiding BE clothing, I should just embrace it, and be the best I can be.

These shirts are GREAT money makers. I sell them at 20k a piece. And when I buy my tissues at 8k-9k per tissue, that's a HUGE amount of profit I make off these shirts. Since black seems to be the only color anyone wants, I waste one of the tissues out of the crate of making a factory schematic, and I just mass-produce crates of these shirts.

After the Melee/Stun Formfitting Undershirts, i'd have to say that my next best seller is:

Thin Striped Pants (or is it slacks /shrug)
+25 Injury/Wound Treatment

I sell these at 50k a piece, and they sell very well too.

As far as non BE'ed clothing goes, Hooded Cloaks (up and down) and Paramilitary Cammo pants sell very well.

Also, another popular BE item is this:
Paramilitary Camo Pants
+4 Melee Defense
+18 Defense vs. Stun
+17 Injury/Wound Treatment

Usually sell these at 50k as well.

it's amazing how different prices are on different servers. I could never sell one item of clothes for 50k (except maybe the jabba's themepark dancer leotard). amazing

for me - if you are asking about BE'd clothes the most popular is a black sunguard w/+25 inj/wound treatment. I sell those to strangers for $25k and to friends for $10k.

2nd most popular BE would also be stun/melee defense on shirts.

NON-BE'd item.... i'd say i sell alot of my trademarked blue-jeans (amazing how much better items sell when you change the name)

also hood up/down cloaks, extremelely revealing skirts, and grand-ballgowns sell well when made in vibrant colors.

Lowca only has 2 or 3 Master Bio-Engineers that I know of, and only one of them keeps a well stocked vendor. Luckily, I am very good friends with her. I'm her personal protection when she's out gathering DNA. Her prices are great on BE tissues. When i buy a crate of tissues, it runs me anywhere from 8k - 10k per tissue (depending on the cost of her organics used to make the tissues). So a pair of melee/stun/injury/wound paramilitary cammos would cost me 1 melee/stun tissue and 2 injury/wound tissues to make, so right there is 30k just for tissue costs.

honestly though, i've gotten many compliments at my extremely low prices for BE clothing. apparently on Lowca, i could double my prices of melee/stun, injury/wound, and warcry/intimidate items and i'd still be able to sell them. but i am happy sellingmy stuff for the prices listed above.

i usually get 2 or 3 emailed orders per day, and have at least 3-5 vendor sales of BE items a day lately, so people seem happy with my pricing structure. (speaking of which, i think i need to restock my BE vendor tonight.)

the reason i can charge prices like this is that the customer feedback i've been getting, is that there are very few well established reliable tailors on Lowca, so i get TONs of referral business. one person will order an item or 2, then suddenly i start getting tells/emails from several of his/her friends looking for stuff as well. lowca has a similar problem when it comes to Architects. there is a severe shortage of Architects on Lowca as well. there are a few around, but Madi is pretty much the only one that anyone goes to to buy stuff. she's been in business for over a year now, and everyone seems to know to go to her for their structure and furniture needs. i hope to someday have that sort of reputation in the Tailoring business.
