When I visited a BE friend's shop to pick up some tissues, I got educated on what they can do with animals. I had always thought every critter in, say, the "class 10" range was pretty much identical to any other sort. My jaw dropped when I compared my pet krahbu to the level 10 creature my friend had on her vendor! Not even in the same ballpark!

I'd think the Creature Handlers might be more than a little ticked off by this, but I guess since high-level CHs are still needed to *train* the creatures, they've still got something.

To make it easy for myself and my customers, I charge a flat rate of 1000 for every point of bonus in single bonus items, adding +1000 for extra tissues if the schematic takes more than 2 per bonus. Thus a +25 wound/injury or dance/music helingitem is 25k, a +4 melee +14 stun is 14k, and a +17 to mask scent/camo is 17k. Complete +90 or higher medical suits I usually bundle for 100k to cover for the extra tissue used.

For multiple bonuses I just charge 1000+ for the top end bonus, and the actual cost of the extra tissue enhanced cloth + cost of the item, so a specops duster with +17 bleed +16 wound would be 17k+2k+1000=20k.

In response to what a bio-engineer does besides make creatures, here is a little info on how they make tissues. As in all other artisan professions, there are specific materials that go into each tissue. Certain tissues take very rare or difficult resources to acquire. Difficult in availability and/or time to acquire a large enough amount to be useful in putting into crates. The most difficult in my opinion would be Milk, that is only available off rare drops, difficult monsters, or rare drops from loot debris. The most irritating would be egg, which is made in entertainer clothing. Irritating in the sense that you have to run around one planet and loot lairs and hope to get from 2-6 pieces of egg and acquire enough to make a schematic that requires 15 pieces. Of course egg and milk aren't the only ingredients required to make the tissues. Creature resources such as specific named meats, hides, etc. All of this requires an immense amount of time and effort. If you are truly interested in making bio-engineered clothes, find out what ingredients are needed and in what quantity. Maybe you can save a little money and help acquire the ingredients needed.

Just my two cents

:smileysadne of my characters is a Master Bio-Engineer. The reason we as a group don't mess with tissue. Is it is to hard gather enough resources. No tailor wants to pay us for the time it takes to get all this stuff together. Ever look on the Bazaar? There are a very FEW locations that actually spawn any real amount of milk or mollosk. The prices you want to charge fpr the clothing undercuts the value of the tissue in time and effort. I can make 400-500k on a good day selling pets. Tissue isnt worth it. Trust me, you guys dont want it in your line either. You'll spend all your looting for ingredients to make 1 tissue. I go to a place where milk does spawnnot in bulk but does spawn from time to time. In four days straight of looking I have 10 milk it takes 25 for the best tissues. Go to a trade forum and see how much people sell the milk for. Sadly the only way this will ever be fixed is if the devs up the spawn rate on these resources.

It's just the rebels sir...... they're here.

I guess it's different on different servers. I never have problems finding any tissues within my price range except for the one that requires milk. I shop at 3 BE vendors (that all stock both tissues and pets) and have a different guy I use for special order tissues. They all charge around the same prices, so I guess they all feel they are being paid fairly for their time and effort. If the BEs I buy from weren't making good money by selling their tissues, I doubt they'd restock their vendors as often as they do. So I guess my area BEs think selling tissues at their current market value is definately worth the effort.

And I'm not quite sure why you think that the price we charge for BE clothes "undercuts the value of the tissue." Because most of us determine our prices for BE clothing based on what BEs charge us for the tissues. When BE tissues finally started working properly, I remember the folks in this forum scrambling to ask the BEs what they were going to charge for the tissues so we could figure out our own pricing. If the BEs charged more, then we'd raise our prices in turn. But tissue prices seem pretty stable. And in the player economy of SWG, when the prices on a certain item seem to be stablized, that's a pretty good indication of what that item is worth.

I charge a flat 1k per point of mod and 2K for each additional wasted tissue plus the normal cost of the clothing. These apply to all the mods except for the taming ones which i charge 400k for a +14 and 500k for a +25 taming(on the taming ones I usually add other combat mods gratis as well)

For example a +16 Med/+16 Stun/+4 Melee def spec ops would be 36k (16k for the med,2k for the wasted med, 16k for the stun/melee and 2k for the cost of the duster)

I have never had any problems with my pricing and sell on averageover 30 bio items/day.

Hope this helps

I have been looking for a BE who can supply me regularly with tissues as well and no luck. I have contacted maybe 8 of them and they all stop answering my mails at some point lol So I'll just be out of tissues until I find more I guess. But I used to play a BE and it's a real pain to get the resources so I can't even say I blame them.

wow, some of this pricing is unreal.

I pay my BE friend a flat 2500 per tissue, up to 10k per tissue if it involves egg, or has a high bonus like +16 or +17. That +17 bleed defense tissue still has to go into the cloth with a chance of crit failure, and then into the clothes for a chance of crit failure. If I am paying 10k for it, and suffering the odd critical failure, it should be worth the effort, not to mention the time it takes us to gather the stuff. While she (Master CH/Master BE) runs around getting meat, I am gathering eggs. Together we do pretty good, and I provide her with free clothes and a good percentage of the profits.

I pay 3500cr per tissue, 3000cr per tissue if I buy them in crates of 25. So I charge 10k for the base item with one tissue, +5k for each additional tissue I insert into the item (i.e. spec-ops duster). I haven't made many +25 items yet, or sets. If I do,I will probably charge much higher--in the neighborhood of 25k to 50k just because the bonuses are that high.

For me its just a sideline business, one I hope to expand when I can learn and master BE.

Haven't found any problem with the price. People will pay for the bonuses if they really want it. Heck, its a lot cheaper than armor. On Corbantis, a single piece of composite armor (i.e. bracer) costs on average 25k or more. And it degrades faster. So I don't really think charging 10-25k for an item is asking too much.

Bio Clothes

1 component clothing - 10K

2 component clothing- 20K

3 component clothing- 30K

Critical failures make layering components in clothing really risky. I lost 8 components due to critical failures yesterday alone, using high quality tool and crafting station. I can't tell you how scared I am to use the +15/+15 Taming synthetic cloth I have. And with regard to BE's, I buy at between 2500 - 3000 credit per component depending on quality. BE's that make components are so hard to find now, a friend just did BEas a holo profession, once he hit master he spent 2 days making me components. My vendor now has clothes again after 3 weeks without a supplier.
