I've found that non-holo tailors, those that actually take orders, are very rare nowadays. I used to secretly hate the competition, but now I encourage everyone who has an interest to get to master - quickly!

They will find you. Enjoy the calm before the storm.

Paksen Lessingham made Master Tailor on Saturday. It was after grinding non stop for 3 days (funny, he had be a novice tailor for 2 weeks, then just sat down one day and grinded like there was no tomorrow). He has a shop in New Bergen on Naboo (Tempest Galaxy). Are there a lot of Master Tailors around or something? he doesn't get a huge amount of business. I told him to get the advertising levels of Merchant so his vendors can appear on the search menu. Any other suggestions?

Congrats.... SO exciting. I was completely excited whenI hit Master could hardly wait for that 'crown' whichI did till my mentor was on *smiles*...I get most of my business just being online....I filled the Bazaar with matching outfits, try to descibe my outfits, sometimes you cant tell the real color....like Blk looks green sometimes ....of course a great shop always matters, as does word of mouth. Dancers are your best advertisement, that is where my referrals come from.

Yes love, that is better.

I will have to agree with Ekana...the dancers are a tailors best friend when it comes to business. We have an awesome shop that we are very greatful to have been invited to join and the bazaar is a great place to get started, just don't price your stuff too low so you don't lose any money on it, enough to break even is good as we gotta keep those factories going with the syn cloth for the armorsmiths *snickers* That is another good way to make some money if you have the resources also. I just sold 1000 units (40 crates) to one just today and she's asking for as much as I can make.

I just Mastered my first active proffession (my other proff is Master Dancer) my question is i am totally new at trying to price iteams so is there a guide out there somewhere? I know there is a pricing calculator out there but i never remember what i paid cpu for stuff and sometimes i get stuff from guildmates and friends. I know most tailors like to try and go generally by the same pricing guide. Does anyone have it posted somewhere what their prices are for their clothing? I am on the wanderhome server if that helps any. I dont want to end up charging too much and not having any paying (usually free for my guildmates) customers. I also dont want to cheat myself by not charging enough. Do some of you charge more if an iteam needs factory parts or specail ingrediants(ex: green diamond crystaline gemstones for the twi'lek nobles crest). If you do how do you determine how much more? I kinda want a better understanding of the pricing system. I know to make some fast cash i was making crates of trim. I was selling it at one price then i found out others were selling it at twice the amount! like i said i dont want to cheat myself so any tips would be much appreciated!

Earlier this month I wrote up a column with some pricing advice over on SWG Tailor. Here it is, if you'd like to read it. It's all just my opinion though, so feel free to ignore it.
